I personally don't have a favorite because I'm torn between genres and I don't think you can compare apples and oranges.

The hip hop beat is somewhat repetitive but that's the genre. Metallica's instrumental can be a song without vocals.

There is something so touching about this song... it has to be my favorite instrumental.

That's beautiful. How about some Beethoven?

That has to be like my 2nd favorite classical song. My lady likes to play that same song--or at least I like to ask her to play that one. Not only does she speak 4 languages fluently, she also plays classical piano, which awes me. I guess I'm lucky. My only problem is she's not around as much as other wimmen. But that's aight. I understand she must be busy talking in all of those languages. LOL Really, though, this song speaks to me as well. I love it. I actually played a little last night and danced a little. It appears I still have a few tricks up my sleeve I haven't played in a while. :)

Wow you are very lucky, I wish I could play piano. If I could afford one AND afford lessons I would jump on it. The piano is to be listened with your soul, not your ears.

If you're like me and into clubbing and therefore electronica/trance, "Halcyon" by Chicane or "There is Only One Sky" by Skybase Beyonder. If you're in a contemplative mood, "Hyperborea" by Tangerine Dream, "Ragas in Minor Scales" by Phillip Glass & Ravi Shankar, or "Psyence Fiction" by U.N.K.L.E. If you want to get psyched up, "Conquest of Paradise" by Vangelis.

Classical Gas by Mason Williams, but performed by Chet Atkins.

I watched Chet cut a track when he was 74. I was a young dude then. The funny thing about him: he great, but he makes mistakes just like any other player. What a cool guy in person though.
