"you got that right"... i like the whole "street survivors" album. i bought it when it first came out (just days before ronnie van zant was killed) - before they changed the cover to a black background. it had the band standing in flames. i guess it must have been considered too upsetting after the plane crash.

hell, i love all the ronnie van zant era, he was something else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like three steps and curtis lowe also. The original band really doesn't have a song I dislike. The new version isn't real good but it's impossible to replace Ronnie. The new version did have one song I liked. It was Traveling Man where they mixed Ronnie and his brothers vocals together.

Did you know his brother refused to sing Freebird for several years because it starts out by saying if I leave here tomorrow will you still remember me?

My favorite album is the Gold and Platnium collection mainly because it's how I was introduced to Skynyrd.

Good thread man....My 3 favorite in this order...

1 call me the breeze
2 tuesdays gone
3 simple man

I'm off from my regular job today and I'm painting one of the bedrooms in my house. Think I'm gonna go jam some skynyrd right now.

You don't need a reason to jam to some Skynyrd :D

and right on que they are playing I know a little on the radio :D

They are all my favorites...

Lynard Skynard is my favorite band of all time...

Have all the Albums...

I grew up listening to my uncle Ray playing Freebird on his electic guitar... dang good at it too...

I still remember the day the plane went down and bawling like a baby...

Saturday Night Special and Sweet Home Alabama...what can I say, I am not a big fan of the group....would rather listen to the Allman Brothers. :)

Momma always said... "if you've got nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all." I think I've already said to much.

Agreed here. Just not big on them, but Saturday Night Special will get the radio turned up....

Agreed...from a guitar standpoint it rocks and really has some great playing with the pinched harmonics. :)

since you like the Allman Brothers Band - check out the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies. their debut album is from '93 and is just great. these southern cats from nashville rock like crazy and remind me a lot of duane, greg, dickey, butch and the boys from ABB.

"Gimme Back My Bullets"

Life is so strange when its changin', yes indeed
Well I've seen the hard times and the pressure's been on me
But I keep on workin' like the workin' man do
And I've got my act together, gonna walk all over you

[chorus]
Gimme back my bullets
Put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back my bullets

Sweet talkin' people done ran me out of town
And I drank enough whiskey to float a battleship around
But I'm leavin' this game one step ahead of you
And you will not hear me cry 'cause I do not sing the blues

[chorus]
Gimme back my bullets
Put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh, put 'em back... where they belong

Been up and down since I turned seventeen
Well I've been on top, and then it seems I lost my dream
But I got it back, I'm feelin' better everyday
Tell all those pencil pushers, better get out of my way

[chorus]
Gimme back my bullets
Put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around, 'cause I done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh put 'em back where they belong
Gimme back my bullets
