For those of us who can't stand the thought of drinking *shudders* beer.:D

I'm fond of SoCo 100 and Coke. Also like vodka and Pepsi, Black Velvet with cream soda, and Wild Turkey 101 with Pepsi.

What's your mixed drink of choice?

Dry Martini.

Also, Martinis are ALWAYS made from Gin. Never put Vodka in a martini. It is far too bland and easy to drink.

My stand-by is a whiskey sour.

I used to drink 7-and-7's quite a bit.

Also, during my annual summer beach vacation, I'll drink about a gallon of frozen margaritas a day. :D
I have a secret recipe... double the tequila!

Jack and Coke or Jack and Ginger Ale... but gimme the Green Label Jack Daniels, please... the Black is a little stronger (higher proof), but the Green just tastes better to me...

Or it did before diabetes turned me into a teetotaler... I won't touch alcohol again until the Boys play in the Super Bowl in February, at which point WHEN they beat the Pats, I'll crack open this bottle of Patron anejo (fifty five bucks a fifth, six years ago) that I've been saving for just such an occasion...

I agree with WoodysGirl, if I'm gonna drink straight liquor, it'll be tequila... but I'm a tequila snob, it has to be a good anejo...

Patron or Herradura are equally good, the Cuervo Familial is extraordinary (but really really expensive, last I checked it was eighty five bucks a fifth)... a serviceable but much cheaper anejo is Sauza Conmemorativo, which generally runs about twenty five bucks a fifth...

And if you MUST ruin good tequila by mixing it into something, if you absolutely HAVE to have a margarita or a tequila sunrise, then the folks at Two Fingers make the best tequila I've ever had that was not an anejo... we're down in the fifteen bucks a fifth range now...

Scotch and my lips.

My drink is

Absinthe Minded Martini

3oz Gin (Bombay Saphire)
1/2oz Absinthe (Mari Maryans Absenta)
Dry Vermouth
1 Orange Peel

Properly chill 1 cocktail glass. In mixing glass with ice, pour gin and absinthe, and stir. In your cocktail glass, roll 1/2 oz of dry vermouth and throw away the excess. Strain other ingredients into cocktail glass and float 1/2 oz of grand marnier over top. Garnish with orange peel.

That's a version of something I used to have regularly -- remove the absinthe, vermouth, and orange and sub a 1/2 oz of Chartreuse.

BTW, I've got a few bottle of real absinthe that I smuggled from Spain and France. The stuff is awful. Just terrible. As much as I want to drink enough to hallucinate, I just can't get it down.

Pour it over a cube of sugar and light it. It's almost drinkable then.

I never drink it straight tho. OMG it's bad.

Have not drank in years but occasionally I jones for a Long Island Ice tea.

Now there was a place in San Antonio (tropical Drink Company) and a place outside of Fort Polk, Louisiana called Frozen spirits.

Loved those places.

If you like margaritas and the like, those places were for you as they had all kinds of different drinks that were basically slurpees/icees with alcohol.

Now if they had one of those around my neck of the woods I would probably be a regular drinker.:D
