What is your favorite Root Beer?


Mine is Saranac Root Beer, its the best by far! If you ever see it in a store, grab it, you'll love it.

I used to love IBC, but there was a very long period that I hadn't had any. Then I tried one and it seem to taste different. Maybe it was just that one or maybe I just don't recall it so much anymore.

I don't care for A&W very much; if I do buy root beer; I prefer MUG of the most common brands.

btw, if I drink anything that isn't water with Pizza, it's root beer. They go together perfectly. (the greasier the pizza the better in that case)

Mug but I rarely drink it straight. I always put a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream in a glass first. Yummy!

:laugh2: Use to love IBC when I was a youngster. Have not had any for years.

Now I drink A&W. Mostly because that is what the wife buys. She asks if there is some stuff I want from the store and I just say root beer. I can drink any of the major brands so it is not a big deal to me.

Now on rare occasions when I visit family in PA...I try to make a point to get a Birch Beer but did not get a chance to the last time I was there.

I don't drink sodas,just iced tea artificialy sweetened,but when we go to eat pizza I get the Barqs on tap, really hits the spot.
I also enjoy a couple of scoops of Homemade Vanilla in my rootbeer,haven't had one in years. Thanks for the memories.

My Son loves Root Beer, but its very difficult & expensive to buy anything decent in the UK.

Have a friend who is in the US Air Force who gets us some on base when he has a chance, tends to be A&W or MUG.

You are right... that is really good stuff...

I also like IBC and Barqs, and I'll add in Stewart's as a really good choice...

Sioux City and Hires are good as well...

Not a dedicated fan of root beer, but I always liked IBC. May have been biased by the fact that the empty IBC bottles are one of the best for getting easy musical tones.

Good suggestions here, should I run across some of the more unusual brands.
