Everyone knows that haggis is now just a joke Scots pull on tourists! Like that fish ice cream they tried to get me to eat in Mexico, or Thousand Year Old duck egg, or Greek Ouzo, or that worm at the bottom of the Tequila bottle.

haggis being an animal is just a joke yeah but haggis itself isn't. have it every burns supper and st andrews day and several random times throughout the year, including with breakfast. in fact i might go buy some for dinner tonight. its amazing with neeps and tatties (mashed turnip and mashed potato) and a whisky and cream sauce

When I was in Scotland, I studiously avoided it (haggis). As for the critter, we have jackelopes here, so I get that one.

The whisky and cream sauce sounds interesting....;)

you should have tried it, it sounds disgusting but it really does taste great. had some last night and it was lovely. bit of cream, cracked black pepper, wholegrain mustard and a generous splash of scotch mixed over a low heat makes a great sauce.
