I have to be honest guys...
I have never watched the winter Olympics before so I thought this year I will watch it. I'm thinking about watching the ice hockey
So what is your favourite event?
Bobsled I guess. Winter Olympics are rather blah for me.
its a great event, youre missing out.
Curling is great on the womens side since so many of them are serious hotties
How can you consider summer events like track sports but not speed skating? Its the same thing except a lot more difficult...In Texas, football and basketball are Winter sports.
You've also got the entire world's worth of Soccer. EPL/La Liga, Bundesliga et al.
I am always impressed by guys like Shani Davis or other US Winter Olympians I really couldn't tell you a thing they do between Olympic runs.
And none of these things are what I'd consider sports.
Can obviously relate more to Summer events.
I'd love to visit Norway though if that helps, lol.

They didn't have football in ancient greece either...is it not a sport?guess because running has always been a sport and was featured at the first and every olympics.
pretty sure they didnt have ice in ancient greece.
essentially every school has track programs. billions of kids run.
how many ice skate?
for people from colder climes i am sure it is a very serious sport.
This.

I think we just have different definitions of "sport" lol
I can honestly say I don't know one single person who has ever speed skated for a day in their life lold
I have never knowingly met anyone's who been a speed skater.
Thus my definition of "not a sport".
I'd see it more as exercise or recreation... or a novelty in Texas.. OMG there's ice!
Obviously in the broader sense of the definition it is absolutely a competitive sport.
And of course the Olympic speed skaters are world class athletes.
I see you are from one of the most northern climes in the US so obviously we'd have a different take.
Ice rinks really didn't even exist in Dallas until my teens.
