I really don't understand how the face of a franchise like the green bay packers would even entertain the possibility of playing for such a bitter rival.

The Jets was understandable, but the Vikings?

I'd strangle myself than see Troy go to the 9ers, steelers, or any other NFC east team.

And on a side note, since when is Favre so ripped? Check oout those tri's :D

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if Favre joins the Vikings they will be a solid team again this year.

The division will be tougher, Lions will suck again, Bears are definitely upgraded, Packers are going to be average.

He'll be in a nice friendly windless dome for 8 weeks out the year. Handing the ball to the best back in football. Berrian and Harvin should also make for some dynamic targets. And in typical self-satisfying Favre form he'll get to play his old team twice.

The team is already solid, he's a definite upgrade over Jackson and Rosenfels - make sense to me. Peterson should open up play action and I'm sure that they will limit the amount of balls he throws and manage him much better than Mangina did in NY.

He's going to play there, its just a matter of how long he wants to see his name on ESPN daily and smell his own farts before it becomes official.

But at the end of the day he's still better than about 15 starting QBs in this league.

The Packers got tired of my retirement game. I'll show them. I might even retire as a Viking. Who knows. At the end of each year of my eligibility I will give you press conferences about how I want to retire as a Jet, Viking, or Packer. I will then waver between all three the remaning two years at the press conferences before I make my decision. I will probably cry to give it better effect each time.

I think the packers will actually win that division. Rodgers is a very solid QB and with Capers taking over that D they should be much improved.

to think i once respected this guy...

back in the day he was a great qb.

he's nothing more now than a joke to himself, his wife and kids and the entire world in general.

+1
He's playing a game for goodness sake, not defecting to Cuba and joining the Commies! If he wants to play, who are any of us to judge? I just hate the soap opera that ESPN & NFLN seem to air daily about it! No need for all these updates, just let us know when he signs and shows up for camp!

Nothing wrong with Favre prolonging his career is possible,,, it is a game, not like he is switching from Walmart to JC Penny....

Vikes are a perfect fit, stout running game which means Favre shouldn't have to throw the ball more than 20 to 25 times a game keeping him from getting a tired arm late in the season and limiting his Romo-like mistakes.

I am not and never have been a fan of Favre's or the Vikes,,, but he would be a definate upgrade at QB and make them the favorite in the division.
