Favre fined $10,000 for crack-back block

(AP) – 22 minutes ago

NEW YORK — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for his crack-back block on Houston's Eugene Wilson in a preseason game.

The league said Friday that Favre hit an opponent below the waist on a run play as the Texans safety was moving toward the ball carrier. The game last Monday was televised nationally and the block caused some uproar in Houston and elsewhere around the league. Wilson injured his knee on the play.

True, but he doesn't have to square up in that situation. He just has to not go at the defenders knees. It was actually a poor decision on Favre because he led with his shoulder and came away looking like he hurt that shoulder from the contact.

NFL=national farve league. The fine would have been 10x worse if someone took out his knee.
