I actually agree with him.

I don't see a trade anywhere else and left with getting something or nothing from the Vikings, I'll take getting something.

That's why I think they'll make the trade there. They can get picks/players or both in return. With the pieces the Vikings have in place, all they really need is a QB who can get it done.

There never should have been a delay.
Guys says he wants to play, he is eligible to play...let him play.

Flip side...Favre never should have put the Packers in this situation 3 years or so in a row.

Packers never should have made Rodgers the starter without competition.
They have zero depth at the position.

It's simply a cluster****.

You'd think after sucking for 30 years before Brett got there the Packers would get their head out of their *** and welcome him back. Are they really going into the season with Rodgers and two rookies at QB?
If they trade or release Favre I predict we will face one of those 2 rookies by week 3, because I think Rodgers is delicate.

I think there's plenty of ego involved.

Mainly Ted Thompson.

He wants to show everyone that he runs things in Green Bay.

But he's afaraid to expose himself to the backlash of Favre playing somewhere else - Minnesota - and coming back to kick Green Bay's butt.

He says the team has moved on - so move on.

Can't have it both ways.
He should take a lesson from Jerry Krause of the Chicago Bulls.

Why would you care who they have at QB, especially if the starter is going to suck. In your previous comments, sounds like you'd like to have Favre back:

Wouldn't having Rodgers and two rookies on the roster, according to you, disrupt the Packers organization?
I'd love to see Farve back, I like watching good football players play. If you don't like Farve then just say so, don't come up with some BS about how you hate him holding the Packers hostage.

Rodgers and two rookies may disrupt the team once the season starts but not the organization. Who knows, maybe Rodgers is the real deal, he sure looked good against us.

Hos, you should have fixed my typo if you were going to edit.

You Cowboys fans sure are tricky. :D

Krause wanted to sign Jordan to a long term deal and Jordan simply played the "game" and got his one year deals. Krause had the problem when Jordan initially retired...his ego was indeed bigger than his evaluation skills.

Jordan and Phil ran that team as a team. When they left it is clear what Krause had to offer.

I love it. For the life of me I can't figure out why the Packers don't want him back. That's ridiculous. Rodgers is nowhere near him as a QB.

Egos are a motha.

Thompson is essentially betting his job on Rodgers...Is that crazy or what?

I like Favre as a QB, I just don't like how he's done the team the last several years regarding whether or not he's coming back. IMO, he's holding the team hostage. I think that's why McCarthy and Thompson came out and said they were moving on with Rodgers as their QB.

Don't forget, the Packers sent someone down to Hattiesburg to try to talk Favre into coming back. Why didn't he take that opportunity to come out and say, "You know what. I think I can still play." Instead, he waited until the Packers made the decision to move forward.

I think the Packers are fools.....yes Brett flip flopped...but are they trying to win a ring in Green Bay or what?...with Favre they are Super Bowl contenders without him they will be average at best.....even if Rodgers is good he will need some time to adjust to different defenses ....yes he looked good against us last year but that was coming off the bench against a team who already packed it in for the day....with teams getting time to prepare for Rodgers instead of Favre things will be different..and I too believe that Rodgers is frail and will never finish a season healthy...I think the best thing to do is let Rodgers and Favre battle it out in camp....(Favre will win) but at least they can say they gave Rodgers a chance.....the best qb SHOULD be the starter.....what is this handing Rodgers the job with no competition? if I were a Packer fan id be pissed.......dont tell me about "weve moved on" you better move back so i can get some championships......

Man isn't that the truth... good analogy there

That's just funny as heck.. it really is... Favre crying at his retirement speech and now all of a sudden he misses the balloons and kazoos. Him want more football, da poor baby.

If it ever happens, can you actually imagine a purple #4 jogging out onto Lambeau Field... Man the boos would be heard all the way around the world.

-If Favre rides the pine @12 mil. then its bad business.

-If Favre goes to another franchise, repeats last years performance and Rogers struggles as starter then its bad management.

-If Favre comes back and takes the starting job from Rogers then its betrayal.

-If Favre sits and the coaches stick with Rogers through his transition as a starter in the league, complete with ups and downs..interceptions and poor decisions then its bad coaching.

Favre is a selfish, ingrate.

In a nut shell.

No reason to retire.

If he chose, or was forced to..certainly different.

Please make this go away.

Maybe in a couple of days there will be something else to talk about.

Preseason games can't start soon enough.

7 hours away. I can't wait either.

I would welcome a Falcons vs. Lions game at this point.

Everything you say is true. Bottom line is if a guy wants to go to work then you should have a reason not to let him.

Personally, I think the Packers might end up better off without Favre. He stunk it up this last year in Dallas. When Rodgers came on the field the game changed and we had a fight to win. I don't think that Favre would have done that.

The major flaw with his game is that I'll win this game for us. Sometimes he does. At times he doesn't. Way too many IMO. It's the only reason I don't consider Farve in the same light as I do Staubach and Aikman as well as the other top ten to twenty QBs ever. He either loses too many games or fails to allow the team to win all by himself. He's not a team player.

Good posts: especially by "yeahyeah" who said he's an ingrate. I've said that about the guy for 12 years but no one cared because he's very good. Ingrate redneck would be better.........As for what will happen? I say they dump him on someone....anyone that will take him in the next 24 hours. He is better than Rogers but something obviously happened behind the scenes to provoke all this.......maybe Favre nailed Thompson's daughter....who knows. BTW: if he DOES report to camp, with the media in tow........good god, que the big top music, clowns, etc.............

Favre is no longer eligable for the HOF in 2013 now. Larry Allen's chances just got better. Woot!

this is going to be very fun to watch if they stick him on the bench. Rogers might as well ask for his trade because the boo birds will be out at his first pick.
This is Brett Favre. Do you REALLY think it'll take that long before the Packer faithful start hammering Rodgers?

My money's on the first time he steps on the field... during Green Bay's first preseason game...
