The Forty Niners won 4 Supers Bowls in the 80s when defense was their weakest unit. A team is not precluded from Super Bowl contention simply because its offense is stonger than its defense.

A team with a poor defense relative to the rest of the league may see an early playoff exodus, but the Cowboys do not have a poor defense relative to the rest of the league.

They rank 7th overall, 4th against the run, and 10th in scoring.

That might actually happen. Sorta like how Andy Reid occasionally likes to open up with the onside kick or some other trick play, Favre in big games will sometimes open up with a deep pass.

It was their first play on offense when they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl in 1997, and it went for a TD. I've seen it once this year too, though I admit I don't remember the exact game.

Hopefully Wade will be prepared for it.
