Horrendous coaching decision by Mike Singletary really cost the 49ers.

San Francisco was leading 24-20 and facing 3rd and 6 with about 1:40 left... Minnesota had 1 timeout left. They ran the ball and got stopped short of the 1st down marker, only to force the Vikings to use their last timeout. Then Favre marched them down the field and won the game.

In that situation, you've got to go for the throat and try to pass for the 1st down. If you get it, game over. Worst case scenario is the Vikings save a timeout, but the risk/reward is solid enough that you should absolutely try to get those 6 yards and win the game.

I don't know... 80 yards with no timeouts left is a tall task for anyone, including Favre. You give the advantage to the defense there almost everytime. Also, they thought they'd be able to pin them down inside the 10 yard line, but the punter didn't execute.

Some of yous need to upgrade to HD me thinks. The original shot clearly showed space between his foot and the line.

Why would you willingly give them a chance at all? Convert a 3rd and 6 and it's game over.

Ensuring that they spend their last timeout isn't worth handing them an opportunity to win the game when you're just 6 yards away from celebrating a W.

1:30 is a lot of time in the NFL, and Favre knows clock management as well as anyone.

I have HD. Not only that I have Superfan & Sunday ticket and watched the game LIVE.

Since it was Favre people are going to see how they want too and plus they were at home.

It's not an easy call to make. I imagine they didn't want to risk something bad happening like a sack/fumble or INT. Hill isn't exactly Mr. Reliable, yet. I think it's a tough call... can go either way.

Then you should have seen the CLEAR AS DAY gap between his foot and the line. I watched it live too, and it was perfectly clear. Perhaps you aren't setup properly.

He doesn't have to carry this team though.

I still don't see how you can't get that.

He wasn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be last season. The Jets started out really good a season ago.

He still has a big arm too.

He is in a great position to succeed and for some reason a lot of you think he is going to fail.

Still lawling.

Whatever you say, talk to me once he plays a tough divisional game, and stops beating the patsies from last season.
