More short-sighted garbage in my opinion...with generalizations up the wazoo. Is it the line or is it Murray?...the chicken or the egg? These trees for the forest type of op-eds are the new IN thing in regards to the Cowboys. The obtusely omniscient know-it-alls at FootballOutsiders can't breathe correctly through their noses between syllabic rants about how Murray is being over-used and if the Cowboys know what is good for them then they need to get others involved. The doomsayers can scarcely wait for Murray to go down and Dallas' season with it...what a story they can then crow about for the remainder of the season.

Read the article.

I think we're in a win now mode more because of players like Tony Romo and Jason Witten getting up their in age. How many more years can they play at their current productive and game to game impact levels?

Murray's success this year is a combination of his talent, the o-lines superior talent and the offensive philosophy of this team.

Run the ball, control the clock, tire and wear down our opposition, keep our defense fresh and opportunistic and make the plays needed on 3rd downs through the air that are needed to sustain the drive.

We do need to win now because the window is always small in the NFL and our QB is in his mid 30's, not necessarily because our starting RB is going to breakdown after 400 + carries.

with your qb at the age he is and free agency coming for so many players this could be a very big year. it's gonna be hard to keep all out guys so winning this year could be huge. then again if we can keep a few, sign a few new guys to fill in and draft well we could see next year looking good as well. but in the nfl it's always win now because you never know what can happen next year for any team

As much as Murray is beasting (and he is) I believe we can find another back if we have to. I'd prefer he stay healthy along with the O-line for years to come, but if that doesn't happen all is not lost like the article implies. We have many weapons outside of Murray. How can anyone write an article about the Cowboys future without even mentioning Escobar and Williams? Theo O-line is young. The defense is getting younger and gelling at the same time. Yes, Romo has a limited window, but I see 3 or 4 more years of that window. We need Murray, but I don't think our future crumbles without him.

Totally right. This is the attitude they should have had in 2007. In this day and age you never know what's gonna happen with your team with injuries and free agency. Win now.

Thanks for sharing, but I think the author is pretty far offbase.

He's completely wrong with any claims that it's Murray and not the line, specifically given the fact that Murray has more yards before he's touched than most, if not all other backs have total yards.

That clearly answers any question about the offensive line's abilities to open up running room.

Once that error in facts is established, everything else claimed is pretty moot.

Your attitude should be "win now" every year, or, you should at least hope that your team carries that attitude and personality. The culture of the team should be that way every year.

Garrett has been instilling that. We are seeing the fruits of it now, and I hope the fruits continue to stay sweet.

yeah im sure the jaguars have the win now attitude as well lol. theres a difference. a team thats winning and is on streak needs to capitalize and leave everything out there. you dont have "save" demarco murrary thinking even if we dont win this year at least he will be better off for it next year. its so hard to win the super bowl. if your team is anywhere close to possibly getting there you use all your resources possible to do it. dont play for next year cause there more than likely wont be that opportunity. go ask dan marino. after his first year, he figure he would be back in the super bowl again in the near future. see how that worked out? remember the dominate seattle just last year.. whats happened to them? injuries and free agency.. dont count this line, as much as you would like it to be dominate for the next 10 years. you can rely on that and take the opportunities you have no for granted.

Re-read what I said. I personally don't think the Jaguars have a win-now attitude at all. It doesn't, nor has it ever been, their team culture to have an attitude, culture, or determination for greatness and accountability.

It also wasn't that way in Dallas for a long time. It's good to see us get back to the culture that Landry built and Jimmy continued before it fell off a cliff with Switzer.

It shall be done, Sir! I'm counting on that England game to be Murray's 9th consecutive 100+ game in a row!!
