- While I think we need to add a vet WR via FA / trade - still agree with Cowboyny we should be looking hard at the position in rounds 1/2 for a long term option. Big drop-off after the top 50.

- This G class is absolutely loaded and one of the best I can remember. I'm fairly confident a Beebe like player will be available in the 3rd and would love for us to add depth / competition for RG. Could find a year 1 starter.

- I'm fine taking Jeanty at 12 but he's quite a ways down on my big board due to positional value. #9.

- Listened a recent Locked on Cowboys pod where they had a guest that knew Flus's scheme really well. Said the defense essentially runs on DT play, we need 1 big bodied DE opposite Micah and LBrs that ran fly to the football and make plays (DMo was perfect fit). He indicated Osa would be fine, but if we're targeting DTs the Bears usually liked guys with big length. Players like Harmon and Mykell come to mind as great DL fits.

- We're going to be playing more zone this year than we did last year and it will essentially be our base defense. With CB being a need we'll likely be more interested in lengthy CBs that excel in zone. Johnson would be the round 1 target - but similar players later will likely be the profile.

- I'm out on OL in the 1st. It would have to be an absolute LT stud for me to pull the trigger and I don't see it. Campbell / Banks are being projected as potential Gs and Simmons has about half a season of good tape coming off an injury. Pass.

- I'm also 100% out on Jalon Walker in the 1st all together...poor coverage grade, poor run defense grade and questionable length to be a full time Edge. So essentially he's not a very good off ball LBr and there are concerns about his ability to get off blocks as an Edge. Very fun college player but way too much risk for me in the 1st.

-We have discussed it for weeks, makes more sense to sign or trade for #2 receiver as a stop gap for the position. However, this doesn't prevent them from drafting a future starter.

-We cannot rule out Martin returning, but my sense is we are going to sign a fa starting guard that Adams has coached to help with the transition.

-Zone corners usually can be found later on in the draft. With Diggs uncertainty they can also sign a fa starter like they did with Gilmore a few years ago.

-I feel that we haven't discussed enough the need at the linebacker position. As you said, very important for Eberflus scheme. I think we are going to sign a fa and probably use a top 3 pick on the position.

By the way, just saw Voch/Broaddus hijack my discussion about who complements Lamb best, video was posted today.

About Johnson: coming off hip surgery as a CB where fluid change of direction is a must. I would procede with caution there. Add I have never loved taking DBs that high. I would want the medicals checked a couple times but not at all sold on him being the pick.

On the G topic I’m.m just not a fan of spending there. I saw enough from the backups last year and the class is loaded so use the money elsewhere at bigger needs.

Agree to an extent on zone corners - but I’m not letting that stop me from drafting one early if it’s BPA. Too valuable.

Is there a sideline to sideline speed LB FA or trade candidate? I don’t know but not the best draft class.

100% agree! Johnson, Ravel and Morrison all legit 1st round CBs with injury concerns. If the medicals are 100% sign me up…if not, Cowboys 2nd round special!

We only have so many picks, this front office is going to have to sign some fa’s. I think our new staff will bring in former players to help with the transition, but long-term starters, but stop gap veterans to fill in the gaps. Kind of like Kendricks last yr.

I am convinced we will be signing a starting mlb, they have to fill that spot with a veteran. They also HAVE to add another starting caliber backer in the draft. There is no guarantee Overahown come back and comes back the same player

I agree just don’t like G as a target for FA.

I actually like Marist as the Mike. Everything we heard about him talked about being the green dot guy. Do you want a MIKE in FA to let him play the Will? Agree on Dmo - feel like we need to prepare for the worst.

Bottom line is we need two new starting linebackers for next season. Yes you only play two in the nickel but need another for depth purposes as that position always gets beaten up

100% agree…

Man I love Cambell from Bama but feel like he’s in between our 1st and 2nd pick.

Gotta dig into these LBs more.

I'm finding it very hard to project them drafting a WR at all this year. It takes too much time for them to reach potential, plus has to be a top flight, #2 guy, probably first 2 rounds. It sounds like a tall order especially for the way they draft with RB or something like Oline/DE usually what they draft in the first.

I think that used to be the case…but we’ve seen 1st round rookies be super successful recently. Especially considering this guy won’t be expected to be the #1…but more so just be able to beat 1:1s when 88 is eating double teams.

The class just doesn’t have many top end receivers.

I think CB is actually the elephant in the room in terms of draft needs. The prognosis on Diggs is that he won't return until training camp. I think there's a strong possibility he gets PUP'd at the beginning of the season. We've got Bland under contract for one more season and there's no telling if we resign J. Lewis this off-season. I think taking a CB at #12 is a strong possibility if a guy like Michigan's Johnson drops (and his medicals check-out).

100% agree…it’s a sneaky huge need.

sorry i.am not drafting for the whims of a DC again, draft BPA and let the DC figure out the how to use him best.we have been burnt repeatedly when we drafting players to fit into DC schemes

Oh I hear ya, just saying if we have 2 players closely ranked they’ll likely lean towards scheme fit.

We all agree, there is no way they can head into the draft and address all priority needs. They are going to have to spend fa dollars in many areas prior.
