Feel bad for Romo

Playing conservative isn’t always a negative. Look at Alex Smith. He is being very carefully with the ball and taking less chances.

I agree. I think it is partly maturity, and him also realizing this Swiss cheese defense is incapable of bailing him out if he makes a mistake.

I'll never feel bad for Romo.

The guy is a millionaire 100 times over and has a wife is absolutely gorgeous.

I do see what you are saying though. He is one of the most disrespected players in the league and I know he has the talent and leadership to win a Super Bowl.

Hopefully one day we will get the pieces around him and a few bounces of the ball to win one and finally shut all of those critics up.

First playoff game would be at home if we win division. We've played well at home, I doubt we get blown out by any of those wild card teams. It'll be close either way, I think we could win.

If we win the next week in Seattle or New Orleans might be a different story....

I think we make the playoffs
I think we get blown out in round 1 despite a good game from romo.
The media then rolls out the "romo can't win the big game crap"

So you don't think we will get the same Romo we had in 2012 against the Commanders right? The one the media roasted for no good reason?

Or the same Peyton Manning that threw the game ending interception in last year's AFC championship game?

I think if the Cowboys make the playoffs they'll win in Dallas during wildcard weekend.

That's all we can realistically hope for. Give me that and I'm pretty satisfied and looking forward to next year.
Always ok to dream for more, of course. But a win would be pretty good given this defense.

Using the logic around here, Peyton had already thrown for close to 300 yards and 3 td's. That should be enough to win the game. His defense couldn't stop Baltimore so it wasn't Peyton's fault he threw that INT. Back to reality, yes Peyton choked late in that game but the difference is, Peyton has shown he can succeed on the highest of levels, we have never seen Romo succeed in win and you're in games or the playoffs. Also, Romo threw 3 INT's in that 2012 game and was easily the weakest link on the whole team, was Peyton the weakest link in that 2012 Playoff game?

I just feel that the Cowboys have a good shot of beating any of the teams fighting for a wildcard...especially at home.

If Lee and Mo come back strong, this team won't get blown out first rd against anyone unless Romo has a poor game. None of those teams have enough weapons to score 35 or more.

Remove the Broncos and Saints games out of the equation and the defense hasn't been all that bad. Unfortunately, those two performances were historically bad.

I kind of agree with you. We will have a shot in that first round of the playoffs but there are some pretty good playoff teams like Carolina and SF. I personally would much rather Carolina. Cam is always capable of a bad game. SF is getting back Crabtree and I think their offense is going to start really clicking and they have a very solid oline and defense. The Panthers barely beat the Dolphins but man that defense can be tough at times. My fear is we haven't beaten a .500 team all year and have looked very average against below .500 teams. It took a last second drive to beat a 1-6 Minnesota team and our team didn't show up until the second half vs. Oakland. When you are playing tougher teams, they can keep scoring on you in the second half and put you away.

Tom Brady has thrown THREE picks in TWO AFC Championhip games and WON them both. So according to yout that makes him easily the weakest link in those games

I know you guys are having a bad couple weeks but this is getting embarrassing. Just accept the fact it's the ultimate team game and move on.

I think our fanbase is quickly becoming like the Chicago Cubs. Man we need some cheery dust around this place.

Carolina is playing better football that the 9ers right now.

Carolina and San Fran are bad matchups for Dallas.

Good to very good rushing team with a strong defense. Poor rushing defense takes pressure off their pretty marginal QBs, and an inconsistent Dallas offense could be forced into a catchup situation pretty early.

I think Romo has learned that if he plays conservative, people will stop blaming you. They only look at turnovers. Regardless of the outcome of the season, i think Romo will continue down this trend.

What else should they look at?

Wins are no worse than when he was "aggressive" so no sense in mentioning that when comparing "aggressive" Tony to "conservative" Tony. The only thing he's lacking this year compared to last year is yards. Yards that were ultimately empty because the team didn't score a lot on all those yards.

So maybe it's more of a, "Gee, the guy's on pace to throw about 4 more TDs than last year and half as many interceptions. Maybe he is playing better".

Id say thats clearly the case. There really isnt much of a "maybe" to it.

Let's have this take place before we all feel bad for him in advance.. In all honesty it looks like we will be playing a defensive minded team in our first game (Arizona/SanFran) so if Romo has a good game that would be the key to winning.

lol feel bad for Romo.

Know why you cant just go bring him some flowers? Because they dont let average Joes into his mansion lined gated neighborhood.

Poor guy has to gome home in his Bentley to his mansion and sleep with his beauty queen wife, all while being the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys.
Hell, I think Im gonna send him my life savings just to make his life better...

I don't agree with you on much but this sounds about right
