I want to say for the first time in a very long time. I actually think this team is more complete and ready to contend for the biggest prize in football. That being said, I am not so caught up that I don't think this team can go 8-8 again. It takes more than stats on a piece of paper to win championships in the NFL.

Garrett as I'm sure he knows, has a group that can potentially be the best Cowboys team since the early 90's.
Go Cowboys!

I would feel the same way as you if the Cowboys had an elite runner in the backfield. This OL paired with a great back would make the offense very difficult to stop. I feel the team has added some pieces to the defense that will improve it but I'm concerned at RB.

Relax and enjoy it. Lagerrette Blount was the RB for the Pats last year. That should say a lot...It's not that huge for us to have a few decent guys rather than one very good one.

I'll tell you what says a lot the Cowboys have never reached or won a SB without having a dynamic runner in their backfield. The Cowboys aren't the Pats they've won 4 SB's with average to decent backs such as Antowain Smith, Kevin Faulk, Cory Dillion and Blount. The Pats have depended on Brady to win games so they're capable of adding an average back like Blount during the season and still win. The Pats revolve around Brady and Belichicks ability to add castoffs around him and still compete for SB's.

The first SB the Cowboys won was with Duane Thomas who carried the load vs Miami. The Cowboys next 4 SB wins was with Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith carrying the load. The Cowboys have always depended on their running game to win championships. Elway would have never won a SB had Terrell Davis not come along. Dan Marino never won a SB because he never had a great back to turn to. Romo had the best season of his career in 2014 due to the performance of a great back.

Murray was never "elite" until the line made him so last season. And his fumble cost us a shot at the Super Bowl.

No doubt in my mind we are as good or better in the run game without him. He left points and footballs all over the field. Can't wait for all the crow to be served.

This is a great team. All these analysts are idiots saying the Eagles had the best offseason. Captain Almighty Kelly got rid of their 3 best players. Shady, Maclin, and Jackson. I don't care who they added, You can't replace them. Throw in Foles too. He might not be elite but he's better than Bradford. Matthews was injured alot in San Diego and we'll see how Demarco holds up after the workload he got with the Cowboys. I mean they drafted a WR, But how good is he? And who else they got that scares anyone? I don't think Miles Austin or Riley Cooper or going to give coaches sleepless nights. The Giants are the team that's improved along with the Cowboys. But it's the Cowboys who are built to win in the playoffs. They got the O-Line to wear teams down. They have a clutch QB, And I know he's got the haters, But Romo is clutch. He's got Bryant to throw to. He's just as good as Calvin Johnson and if they've got a 3rd and five, Witten is going to catch it. They added Hardy and Gregory to the pass rush. Byron Jones can play Safety and CB both. So now the secondary is better and then you add a healthy Sean Lee with McClain at Linebacker and yes, I feel pretty good about this team too

Going to give most of the credit to the OL in 2011 that was in transition for Murray's franchise record 253 yards? Tyron was the only #1 pick on the OL when Murray set that record. The Cowboys haven't had a back since Emmitt run as well as Murray who had some terrific games well before this OL was built. I'm not saying the Cowboys aren't going to be able to run the ball but I don't think they'll run it as efficiently or rank as high in rushing as they did last season.

How many believe the Cowboys would have won 3 SB's in the 90's with an average RB due to their great OL? Does Emmitt not deserve some credit or was it entirely the The Great Wall of Dallas that made him an elite back? Even Garrett admitted the back does matter but many here and even some in the media thinks it makes no difference with the OL the Cowboys have. We'll find out.

Emmitt made that line look good. Before Larry Allen joined the group, how many Hall of Famers were there?

And no they would not have won ONE SB w/o Emmitt.

Nobody is talking about Emmitt.

The running backs we have combined with this OL are fine.

It was dumb running Murray that much he wore down and left points and footballs on the field.

We don't need him. Time to move on.

Fine? Williams who is a walking injury already having issues with knee and that is in shorts. Randle much to prove, McFadden failure up to this point and Dunbar he really is a 1 trick pony? Not sure I would call this fine.
I do think Dallas can compete and challenge but I do think for this team to take the next step someone will need to step up and be the man at RB

McFadden is going to shine here.

Randle will step up he scored TDs last year that Murray would have run up a defenders butt.

Our OL will be even better. Romo healthier. My God how can anyone worry about this offense?

I hope your right, he has not done so in all the time he has played. Randle another I hope can show something. We have these guys that have done nothing and you are comparing them to a man who lead the entire NFL in rushing? Murray proved himself these guys have done nothing.

It's a passing league, brah. No comparison to the teams of twenty, even 40, years ago............

Just sayin'.
