Felix Jones Big Plays

i know every 1 loves felix jones but theres no way he could be our every down back, he's a perfect 3rd down change of pace back.. not too many rb's in the nfl can make that change. Choice as our starter then felix jones as the change of pace back. He doesnt have the build for it, or the durability.

Felix isn't a scat back. He's 6' 215 pounds and has large thighs - he's a legit NFL RB. He's just had unusually bad luck with some freak injuries.

I agree. While I do not expect Felix to get 25 carries a game I do think he can handle more of a load than he is currently asked to do. I also do not think he is a fragile player just had some bad luck in a game that tends to be very physical.

Could you imagine a combo of F Jones, Austin, and McCluster or Ford?

That would be a lot of speed and fun to watch on offense.

I noticed that the old Felix Jones Highlight Reel of his college runs was taken down... That was one of my favorite vids ever. Stupid Youtube.

But yeah, Felix is ridiculous. It's such a cliche that the great ones make it look easy, but with him it's really true. I was watching the NFL Replay yesterday of our loss to the Steelers a couple of years ago, and I'm convinced that we win that game if Felix is playing. Choice got a lot of props for his game, but there were two or three times where he got 15 yards... With Felix, those are TDs, or at least 40-50 yard gains. In a tight game, that's the difference between winnning and losing.

Speed wise that looks great however I tend not to point too much to rookies until they show they belong in the NFL. Don't get me wrong I like both these rookies but like any rookie you got to show it at this level. Having speed is one thing knowing how to use that speed is another. Felix for example has very good speed but he also shows very good patients in allows blocks to take place before kicking it into high gear.

People forget that Julius was the same way when he got here.

Spears couldn't stay healthy either.

Its a common thing with Rookies. Rookie RB's just get decimated every year with injuries.

I'd hold off before I declare Felix completely injury prone.
