I watch Felix Jones highlight reels of college and just think wow, we are really wasting this guys talent here at Dallas. Just once I would like to see FJ run the ball 21 times in one game to see what happens. If we had just FJ and Choice on the team we would be fine we are now seeing the need in other positions (OL) we Jerry didn't make any trades before the season is beyond me....if you guys go into the New England Patriots forums there is a lengthy post about Mankins to the Cowboys.....:bang2:

Somebody's got to be the odd man out in this trio. Nobody can get in a any kind of rhythm getting 8 carries scattered throughout the game.

Give me Felix and Choice.

If Felix is out, who is in?

It would be one thing if there was a monster in front of him eating carries and racking up numbers but there isn't. He is the monster and he just doesn't get the touches.

I think he's saying that if he had to keep two of the three it would be Choice and Jones, with Barber being the odd-man out.

Not a big fan of an injured MBIII, but when healthy he contributes greatly to this team, from just what I can see on TV.

He was effective against the 'skins. Had a few nice runs, punished some tacklers.

And he was always the first guy over congratulating Felix after his big gainers.

I'd like to see each of those guys average 10-15 carries a game.

I have thought since last year that for whatever reason, Garrett refuses to put any of the offensive focus on Felix. The guy is the most dangerous weapon on the team, and he gets 10 or less touches EVERY DAMN game. For the life of me, I just don't get it. He is definitely wasting away in this offense.

But even in college, Felix did not get a whole lot of carries. He is way too injury prone to get 21 carries. His effectiveness goes down if you give him a good amount of carries. That is the reason he is so effective. He is used in spurts. If used as a regular back, I don't see him being like he is. Choice is much more suited to be an everydown back than Felix. He showed that in Pitt 2 years ago.

Now could Felix be used better and more effectively, yes? But you don't want him getting that many carries.

Actually all 3 can be used if we run the ball more. We should have ran the ball at least 30 times in that game.

I really wish this idea that Barber is still a "punishing" runner would go away. The guy hasn't done a damn thing worth talking about since the great run after the catch vs. Arizona in 2008. He USED TO BE a "punishing" runner, he USED TO BE a guy that you wanted to get the ball to on a regular basis, he USED TO BE a good RB. He's just a waste of cap-space at this point and I'd be willing to bet that he won't be a Cowboy in 2011. He is holding a good portion of our offense back right now, with him we are half as explosive and nobody fears anything in our back-field.

No, no. I meant Barber should be the odd man out. Sorry for the confusion.

I understand Barber is supposedly the best at picking up the blitz (Sunday night?), but he just is not a quality running back anymore. He looks slow and doesn't run with the passion he once did either.

Barber ran out of bounds on just about every touch in the Skin's game. Everyone I watched the game with commented about it. Maybe he's being coached to avoid the hits, but he was going out of bounds on every damn play and not even attempting to pick up any tough yards. If that's all he's gonna do, he's not much use to us. He certainly isn't going to use his "speed" to pick up extra yards.

I understand the argument that he is injury prone, but are we really helping ourselves by being so afraid of an injury that we aren't using his talent?

I'd rather risk an injury and know that we tried to win football games by giving the ball to our most explosive player.

My feeling is that Choice is the one foundering on this team...he's better than what he has been given.

Remember when both MBIII and Felix were out for about 4 games and Choice had to do it aginst the 4 top defenses? He proved that he could do it....only to be relegated back to #3 again.

2008 against Pittsburgh, N.Y. Giants, Balitmore, and Philly....325 yards on 62 carries for a 5.24 ypc avg....since then, he's only had 2 games where he had more than 10 carries, and most games well below 5.

I'd take FJ and Choice.

But I also agree that FJ isn't being used correctly either....then agin, we could have AP or CJ on this team and they would be using them the same way that we are FJ, IMO.

Remember those days when it was literally a pleasure to watch him inflict punishment to any and every would be tackler? I would be grinning ear to ear with every carry just to watch him gore an opponent.

Those days are over, it seems. I don't know what happened, but it happened fast.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I firmly believe this team will never win a Super Bowl with Garrett calling the plays. He just doesn't have the patience to run a balanced offense. He will throw a game in every now and then where we stick with the run, but he just can't stomach that type of game very often. He gets too cute and seems to want to show everyone how smart he is, when all he's doing is the opposite. Just play smart football and win and everyone will notice you then. We won't do that consistently in big games until we become more dedicated to running the ball. It takes heart and a mind set to line up and whip the guy's *** in front of you. We don't seem to have that and I believe it comes directly from the coaches and filters on down to the players.

Yea, I remember them fondly. However, the memories are fading fast. Like I said, it might be coming from the coaches. It seems like we play to not get players hurt, especially our RBs. You just can't play that way and win. If an injury happens, it just happens. Look at all the injuries this past weekend. You can't hide from them. Line up, block people's *****, and run the damn ball.
