Felix Jones spoke about his frustration Wednesday as he continues to fight his way back from a partially torn PCL in his left knee.

"It's a little tough to go through the off-season, the pre-season feeling good, get into the season a couple of games then get hurt,'' Jones said. "Last year it happened the same way.

"I did kind of get down on myself, but you know, I've just got to keep working hard, keep going out there and getting better every day and not let it get to me.''

Jones suffered the injury on a 40-yard run in the third quarter of the team's win over Carolina in Week 3. This came after he missed 10 games as a rookie due to hamstring and toe injuries.

Jones said there is a good possibility he will return to practice next week and is hopeful he will play against Atlanta.

"I just try to get back to where it feels good to me, where I'm able to go out there and play again and have fun,'' Jones said. "It's been frustrating, but you've got to take it as it comes. Deal with the punches and try to come back and make a difference, come back stronger. That's how I deal with it.

"I'll try to stay on the field next time.''

IRVING -- Running back Felix Jones, one of the Dallas Cowboys' most explosive players, said Wednesday that it is possible he will return for the Oct. 25 game at Atlanta.

Jones, who is averaging 10.1 yards a carry, said he's feeling good in his recovery from a sprained ligament in his left knee, but is cautious.

"You have to be careful with the intensity level," Jones said before practice.

Jones has missed two games since the knee injury on Sept. 28 vs. Carolina and is working toward running at some point this week. He wants to practice fully next Wednesday, but understands its a delicate process. The Cowboys have a bye this Sunday.

"It can be frustrating, but you've got to take it as it comes and roll with the punches," Jones said, "And try to come back and make a difference and come back stronger. That's how I deal with it and stay on the field next time."

Jones, in his second season, has not played a full season since becoming the Cowboys' first-round pick in 2008. He suffered a toe injury in a game at Arizona last Oct. 12. While rehabilitating the toe injury, Jones injured a hamstring and was lost for the rest of the season.

"It was a little tough going through the offseason and preseason and feeling good," Jones said. "Now you're getting to the season and a couple games in, and getting hurt. Last year, it happened the same way. I did get down on myself, but I just got to keep working hard and staying in the training room and not letting it get to me."

I just hope he doesn't try to reinvent his running style and become the next Julius Jones.

I only hope that Feix Jones turns into this...

I think what hurt Julius Jones was that teams started figuring out that he got most of his yards on the draw play, so they started watching out for it.

He will probably play against Atlanta.:)

Probably get five carries for a hundred and twenty yards.:D

Then he will go on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season.

so I guess we can rule him out for the ATL game now.

Geez, I thought the same thing. It's almost like reading between the lines. I just don't think he'll be ready.

Take your time Felix, .. get healthy. Completely healthy.

Tashard & Marion will take care of business until you do.

It's a long season, .. we want you for the run at the end of the season.

(and for the playoffs.:crossed: )
