I thought he looked good on the few chances he got. Good vision and power and looked good on that screen pass

Felix beat that linebacker with his exceptionally quick feet (behind the line of scrimmage) before he even hit that crack. As a result, he just powered through that arm tackle and then another tackle. That was some really good blocking up front, including Free, Arkin, Costa, Witten, and Gronkowski. They gave Felix a chance, and he hit that little crack and had a great run.
That was a great blitz pickup by Jones, too. Babe liked it and pointed it out on the replay. Bill and Babe did a nice job calling those big plays tonight by Felix. That was fun.
It was fun seeing Felix get the space on that 16 yard screen play; Felix ate that YAC up. Costa, Arkin, Kosier, and Bryant did a nice job of running and blocking on that play. That is great play design by Garrett, too. Felix Jones is a YAC machine, and he should crush that 48 catch mark of last year.

I am almost convinced Garrett is going to go back to having a lead dog and not a committee and thats why murray was drafted. Because if felix comes out they can insert murray and not have to change plays etc..

1.) A running back needs carries to get into a rhythm
2.) Since each RB brings something different to the table, you could tip off the defense on the plays you run.

There is no bigger Felix advocate on this site than you, that is for sure. You've been throwing out stats on him for a couple of years now.41gy#;4047025 said:I'm really excited.
I've been calling for a Marshall Faulk-like diet for Felix for a while. Garrett had Felix averaging 17 touches per game during the last 8 games of 2010. Furthermore, Garrett had Felix on a 1500+ total yard pace despite the severe adversity, on multiple fronts, that Felix Jones faced. Felix Jones is around a 20 touch player, so Garrett was in the ball park during the last 8 games of 2010.
I heard Vela mentioned a Marshall Faulk-like 18-22 touches per game for Jones this year, which included 14-16 rushes per game. Vela stated that Jones could catch 60-70 passes in this offense. Also, he stated that Jones is "ready to blow up". I loved how he said it, too.
I'm sticking with the Marshall Faulk-like diet for Felix. They are such similar players, and the offenses are very similar. Jones is cut straight out of the mold of Marshall Faulk. Felix Jones should get 14-16 rushes per game, and he should shatter that 48 catch mark and eat up even more YAC this year. I think Jones should catch at least 4 passes per game, and I wonder if he could bust 70 catches in this offense. The Cowboys have rebuilt this offensive line around his running skills. The Rams didn't have a Hall of Fame tight-end, so we will see.
Again, according to Stats LLC, Felix Jones ranked first in YAC per target and YAC per catch (among the top 5 YAC players in the NFL). Jones led the entire NFL in catch rate (92.3%), and he ranked 5th in the NFL in total YAC and 3rd in the NFC in total YAC according to Stats LLC.
Also, that 18 yard run should come as no surprise, because Jones was ranked 4th (tied with LeSean McCoy) in greater than 10 yard runs per carry (in 2010) according to Stats LLC data (top 20 running backs in the > 10 yard rush category considered).
