Fellow Car Enthusiasts... Carroll Shelby Has Passed Away

One of his racers, Skip Slate, taught me more about driving than anyone in the world. Skip adored Carroll Shelby. There is no doubt the man was a racing and automotive legend.

A buddy of mine had a chance to buy a Cobra mid 60's brandy new for five grand. Deal fell through over financing. Kicking himself for decades, car worth over half a mill now.

Gosh I love those. I wish Skip hadn't passed away. He had so many cool pictures of Carroll Shelby and his cars. Hundreds of them. As kids we used to sit and listen to him tell stories about how particular Shelby was about every detail. Always reminded me of Tom Landry in a way.
