If you can do the job well it doesn't matter. If you can't do the job well it doesn't matter, either. If you put them through the uprights and hit them long on kick offs fans won't care if you have gills on the side of your neck.

I'm all for it. If they can hit FGs try them out.

Whoever wins the starting job should get the job, period. If the girl has a difficult time making the tackle, well then she'd be like 95% of the kickers anyway.

Plenty of women can kick the crap out of a soccer ball. Kicking a football is different, obviously. Soccer balls go farther. So my question would be, would the leg strength be there to consistently put it in the end zone for a touchback? I have no doubts that accuracy probably wouldn't be an issue on kicks inside, say, 40 yards. But if you need a 55 yd fg to win the game, is the leg strength there to knock it through? I'm sure there are some that it wouldn't be an issue, but for some it would be an issue. If a female kicker can outright win the job, sign her up. If not, then don't.

Personally don't care if a very intelligent ape or lion was on the field. If they can play, let 'em play.

Well you asked what everyone would do which suggests you don’t know. You didn’t state one way or the other.
Ok, let me express that i think it would be very cool. I just didn't want to throw my influence in to the mix. I think the right female could actually handle it.

Even if you ignore the fact they would get destroyed on any hits or tackles.

They don't have the leg power to get even be close to professional men. I know we always joke about how easy the kickers have it and they aren't really football players but these guys are the elites of their position for a reason.

If you remember them showing the woman's soccer player kicking a fg a few years back. What people failed to understand is that she kicked from a running start like you would a kickoff. You can't do that in a live game with a rush. The defense would have not only knocked the ball down they would have crushed her as well.

Professional kickers can kick fgs in two steps these days to avoid the rush and still have the power to kick 50+.
