I have posted a few times about BIGG Davis and some concerns I have with him in pass protection and how he has trouble handling quick moves at times and whiffs on his man. I also have expressed if he gets his hands on you no way you get to the QB, and he is very good in the running game.

Against the Broncos BIGG was DOMINANT. Oh my was that fun to watch, he was perfect in pass protection, and mauling in the running game. I have re-watched 3 games where he played guard in Arizona, and last week against the Colts. Against the Broncos he was his best so far. I will say he did not have to go up against any quick moves, or it appeared, but so what, he looked great.

Ken Hamlin I thought also looked really good. I have not heard much about him after the game, maybe I just missed it, but every time I looked up he was in on the tackle. I kept seeing 27 when Bronco players where hitting the turf. We never got to see him in pass coverage, but he was very active.

Anthony Spencer - yep just a rookie, and from what I saw he still has a ways to go. At first I was excited about him getting back in coverage and tipping the ball that Graham ended up catching, but after looking at this play again, Spencer was burned bad by Graham off the line of scrimmage, more recognition than anything else. Cutler got pressure and was bailing backwards, this caused the pass to be very short, and Graham had to stop his pattern and wait for the ball, that is the only reason Spencer got back.

Also on his QB pressure, he ended up just getting a free run, the Bronco lineman missed his assignment, Spencer just ran at the QB with no resistance.

My concern while watching him is he was not getting off blocks at all, that is probably somewhat expected at this point, but if he starts the season he will need to improve on that in a hurry.

His best rush of the night was a very nice spin move that would have crushed Cutler if he would not have gotten rid of the ball so quickly, that was the only play I thought Spencer won his battle.

*****I am not knocking Spencer, he is a rookie, it will take some time, I still like the pick, just letting people know how he did. Not ready yet to be a force, or at least from what I saw.

Pat Watkins was leading the team in tackles last year...until he got benched.

Yea, Davis is a MUCH better guard than tackle and cant figure out why the Cardinals had him at tackle. Im sure it had to do with where he was drafted and the thought of the #2 pick in the draft only being a guard was dissappointing for them but they should have played him where it was a better fit.
