I'd love to see Dallas win today vs. SD. It would continue a trend I've enjoyed this year, never losing two games in a row...always bouncing back.
Honestly, Dallas is not the most talented team on the field today. Position by position, I personally believe SD has better players at more positions than does Dallas.
So, worst case scenerio would be to lose 3 straight games...lose at home to SD today; lose in NO next week...the fans and media would be brutal. Then suppose the roller coaster shifts to another pattern. The Cowboys possibly beat Washington in DC and defeat Philly in Arlington...the 'Boys still finish 10-6; still in the playoffs as division winner or wild card. Go into the playoffs on a two game win streak.
Most fans would be excited about sweeping Philly and the hopes of peaking in the playoffs, but surely many fans would say we suck and will make a fast exit.
The Dallas Cowboys are NOT anywhere near the most talented team in the NFL. Neither our OL or DL is anywhere near the top units in the league, and our running back corps, while deep, doesn't boast a back that would start for any of the better running teams, imo.
I'm excited about the performance this year because I feel the Cowboys are on the upswing and are a very competitive team. The roller coaster ride will continue until we improve both lines a little and either get Felix Jones starting and carrying the ball 18-20 times a game or find another starting RB. MBIII and Choice are good backs, but neither shows me any signs of being a STAR. Felix has something that could make him a STAR, but he hasn't proven anything yet either.
A win today will definitely be a team victory.
