Oh because our defense will stop them!! (Sarcasm)
I will take field goals all day long from the opposition. Our D might let them get down the field but they seem to be able to make a stop when it counts. Been a while since our D was this good. Hope I don't jinx them.

Kickers obviously have an easy job from a purely physical standpoint compared with other positions. But, they face a great deal of mental and emotional pressure. It’s a lonely position to be in when the game is on the line and it’s up to you and you alone (assuming a good snap and good blocking). I liken it a bit to a closer in baseball.

Kickers are the weirdest people on earth. Last time Maher was here he couldn’t hit anything in the 40-50 yard range, even missed a few inside 40 yards out. Now he kicks like a top kicker in the league.

only scary piece is kickers seem to be really great until all of a sudden they aren’t.
Exactly! The mental aspect is huge. Success breeds confidence which breeds success. Failure breeds doubt which breeds failure. All it takes us a couple if misses on routine kicks and a kicker may not recover mentally.

Absolutely and we have seen Maher go down that road in the past. You start getting into cold weather, games down the stretch with more on the line, etc it will be something to watch as far as how Maher reacts.
