I toured the new Cowboys stadium and I'm watching the Giants game and they have the little rubber beads too. I can't imagine these are going to be an issue with getting into people eyes.

It's been raining in NY and you can see the beads stuck all over their helmets. Anytime someone slides across the ground these things fly into the air.

Anyone else see this?

The title is a little...misleading...but every team with a synthetic field has the black rubber bits. It helps show if someone's feet touch.

Speak of the devil, I think the Panthers Goodson just got an eye full and had to leave the game.

I wasn't thinking football when I read the thread title.

Weird as hell, isn't it?

That's actually the playing surface--not so much the turf, but the beads.

Thats because you both are sick *******s! :laugh2:

look for us to be slipping on them in the first home game. the have equipment to spread and even them out but there always ends up being a few patches where the beads are too thick and that will be exactly where felix tries to cut, miles tries to break, newman tries to turn and run, and so on and so forth

whoa!!!! just imagine dirt getting into their eyes too!

The physics of the two are different. These beads literally bounce up into the air in mass.

You could see the front of Matt Moore's helmet was cover in the beads. I wonder if they got in his eyes too considering he couldn't see the difference between his receivers and Giant d-backs :laugh2:

Especially in the end zone! :laugh2:

What did he have? Three picks in the end zone?

They are little rubber bits, on all turf fields. I heard they are made from recycled tires. We play on the turf for a flag football league, its awesome to play on, very springy. But the bits do get in your shoes quite a bit.

I played a lacrosse game on the stuff differently different and I would not be to concerned about it

I play soccer on this stuff. They don't get in your eyes but they get in your hair, stick to your face and fill your shoes. You have to empty them out when you take them off.
