Okay. So the Eagles got Nnamdi. (Wish you guys would learn to spell his name before proclaiming him the second coming of the Lord).

So, what can the Cowboys do to combat this? I hear thoughts of going and getting a top-flight WR.

But have you thought about just strapping down and shoring up our Offensive Line?

Go get Justin Blalock. Add in Vonta Leach.

How will Asomugha keep us from ramming the friggin ball down their throat? Their D-Line is shaky and LB corps is practically threadbare. The Cowboys, with a key addition or two, could be the nastiest and toughest running football team in the NFL, and I think Jason Garrett knows this.

Please, back away from the edge and remember, it is in the trenches that football is won and lost. We've resigned the two starters in the trenches.

Things are getting done the RIGHT WAY.

There are still good guards out there we can grab. I think Leach would be a great addition and would boost our running game immensely.

The point remains the same. There is no need to panic because a rival got a decent player. Run, run, run the ball down their throats.

I wish we could clone a 1993 version of Eric Williams. We need some 'nasty' on our line.

I thought with your title it would be Brian Waters which isn't a bad idea for the right price.

but the philosophy is correct...............No CB can cover a decent wr if the QB is sitting back there comfy.......and if the SS/FS have to creep up to stop a strong run game.........

not sure it would fit Garrets game planning.....does it even fit our group of rb?

With Rex Ryan's defense that shouldn't be a problem

Indeed. Brian Waters would look very good between Gurode and Tyron.

The Cowboys are a few small steps away from having a dominant running game.

He's also a Dallas native that has mentioned before he would like to finish his career with the Cowboys.

I like that idea, they have almost no push rush. Another than Cole, Graham is supposed to be pretty good but hes injured now I think.

I love a good offensive line. If we can get a nice guard, I will fell a lot better.

I'm so with the OP. Win games in the trenches. Strengthen the OL and DL by signing Justin Blalock, Vonta Leach and heck, throw in Cullen Jenkins. Abram Elam can be the only safety signing and hope AOA or Church step up for the other spot.

Red has Romo back at QB, I can see abandoning the run, run, run. again

Red is also a very, very smart coach and knows that his name is on the line. Jerry Jones has given Garrett more of this team than he's ever given any other coach from what I can recall.

Red isn't going to abandon the run and run his name through the mud while doing it.

Get real.

so the eagles already has Asante, then trades Kolb for DRC and then spends alot of money for Nnamdi. Wow thats alot of money and talent in their Secondary. They could have used that money on some LBs and DTs.
Something telling me Reid has a trade lined up to trade DRC for a DT or LB.

oh lord.
so it was Wade that was calling the plays back then? Or Red didn't give a damn about his name then? Was he trying to get Wade fired? or did he abandon the run because he had Romo back there? hmmm

why would he do that? Asante is the one leaving.

Wade had much more pull with the offense than you think. Wade Phillips was the Head Coach. Not the defensive coordinator. If Wade Phillips told Garrett to run a certain kind of play, Garrett didn't really have much choice. You can't tell me you didn't see a change in the team from the first half of last season to the second. 1-7 getting blown out to 5-3 and losing those three games by 3, 3, and 1 points.
