I think teams realize the best way to defend the Cowboys is man...by playing zone you allow guys who cannot get seperation to find open spots....and Romo reads the zone well...he can read man well too....but if Crayton or Hurd cannot seperate it is going to cause him to hesitate before passing the ball
i agree, without speed teams don't fear getting beat deep so they can play man. cowboys need to run some pick plays that they seem to never execute very well. or screens which they can't execute either.

i thought the JJ and MB3 wrinkle was nice. if teams want to defend the outlet pass, will they defend both guys?

Garrett won't committ to the run. It's not been a problem this year because the passing game is usually always rolling, but when it's not, he seems reluctant to run the ball.

Oh, I agree with the play calling down there, just usually we try a pass and get 7, but given the prior int. you're right that influenced the play calling on the last fg drive.
Just saying we could have scored 30+ tonight without some of our own undoing, given the 25 first downs and 400+ yards.

Ah, I gotcha.

Yeah, I agree with you on what you just explained....

I am not sure, but I hear rushing for over 100 yards in a half is pretty good.

What scares me the most about this team heading into the future is we saw what our offense looks like without someone like Owens demanding coverages being rolled to him.

We need to seriously consider WR early in the draft next year.

103 first half rushing yards are great, so why didn't we keep running it? That's the point, the attempts look good at the end of the game (largely because we ran a lot at the end), but there was no reason for Romo to have 32 pass attempts at halftime when A.) T.O. was hurt and B.) Barber was dominating.

think teams have finally done it?

Hmmmm, the Cowboys had 407 yards of total offense tonight... based on that, if some teams have figured Garrett out, it would appear that the Panthers were not one of them...

Like Romo was figured out last year in the final 5 games?

Garrett...what I would like to see him do is stick with the running game, which he seemed to do for awhile tonight.

Oh lord. We had TO for the majority of the first half and combined with us being in our 2minute offense for our last two drives accounts for the 32 pass attempts. In the second half we ran 16 times to 11 pass attempts. It's amazing what conclusions you jump to when you come to conclusions that fly in the face of the facts.
