This is just my opinion. But I think if you look closely at the film, Phil Mafah has a higher potential than most 7th round picks.

I honestly think the.Cowboys knew they could wait until the 7th round to get a back and still get a.very solid back. I was a Devin Neal guy, but Mafah could end up being even better than Neal if we're talking NFL.

Mufah isn't slow, and people keep talking about his speed. But he's nimble enough and a much better runner than I think people are giving him credit for.

He'll be a good player for us, and possibly our starter. This is how we roll. Why spend heavy resources on a RB when we can make one.

If Voch keeps making content like this, I'm gonna have to be a bigger fan. Good stuff. For me, I liked him better on his own channel anyway. This latest breakdown on Mafah shows the upside.

Strength, power, deceptive speed. Mafah can be an all around back.

My comp? Eddie George.

Mafah has very little vision. He can hit holes and bully defenders but he’s a long shot to make the active roster. Williams and Blue have to be the front runners right now, and something tells me Deuce gets one more season. I can see Mafah as a practice squad guy that will get a turn if Williams gets injured. I think Sanders is a training camp cut.

By the way, I disagree with his final assessment of Mafah. He's gonna be a good back after a year of speed, strength and NFL level training and coaching....he just reminds me a lot of Eddie George, who was a pretty good back.
Iv'e watched quite a bit of film on Mafah he looks big and pretty fast too,he looks to good to be picked in the 7th round.

Mafah seems much more than PS material . I mean at the very least inside the 10 let’s see if he can hit pay dirt and Dallas Quits depending on the soccer kicker for points . This dude runs over people . I’m excited about these 2 backs in the draft.

Yeah, I didn't mean to double post the same video and thread. But the replay of the runs he highlights shows what he can do.

Underrated back. Class was loaded, so I don't think he gets picked in the 7th round in most drafts.

Same for Toia.
No problem with the double post brother. Glad you used it as an opening post for everyone to notice. I posted it 4+ pages in the back end of another thread I had previously created concerning Phil Mafah, so many fellow posters probably have not seen it until your new thread.

I totally agree on your points. In most drafts, both Mafah and Toia would have gotten picked much sooner.

I think Deuce is as good as gone barring an injury to Blue in camp.
So far he hasn’t progressed enough in pass protection that he’s not a major liability on the field. They got their work cutout working withBlue in that regards.
At best, put him on the practice squad but there’s no point in holding a roster spot for someone who’s going to get 20 carries again in his 3rd season!

I mean, people keep discounting our picks because they were picked in later rounds. But the armchair football scout in me watches these players, particularly Mafah and Toia and I think these guys don't look like seventh round players to me. More like 3rd and 4th.

Toia is a bull. And he's a smart player. Looks slow at certain things. But he's a bully, and a smart player with 100 percent hustle.

Totally agree.

Our other 7th round DT, Tommy Akingbesote, looks pretty good and aggressive as well. Other than our 1st round pick, G Tyler Booker, and our second 5th round pick, LB Shemar James, I feel everyone else the Cowboys picked up 1-3 rounds later than they would have gone in another draft. Cowboys truly did their homework and lucked out in so much talent falling several rounds but still being available to get picked up than where they originally should have much sooner. Excellent value for those rounds in which they were taken. Best draft in many years.

We had Eddie George before. He looked like Zeke did last season
