Alright, here's my guess at the final roster, along with total position numbers:

3 QB: Bledsoe, Romo, Henson
4 RB: Jones, Thomas, Barber, Thompson
1 FB: Polite
5 TE: Witten, Campbell, Ryan, Pierce, Robinson (long snapper only)
10 OL: Flozell/Vollers, LA/Peterman, Johnson/Gurode, Rivera/Walters, Petiti/Tucker
4 WR: Keyshauwn, Glenn, Crayton, Copper

That's 27 offensive players.

7 DL: Glover, Ferguson, Canty, Ellis, Coleman, Spears, Raitliff
8 LB: Ware/Thornton, Singleton/Burnett, Nguyen/Shanle, James/Fowler
5 CB: Newman, Henry, Glenn, Reeves, Jones
4 S: Roy, Beriault, Davis, Scot

That's 24 defenders.

Plus 2 kickers is 53.

Here were the tough issues for me:
-Do you take TE Pierce, or DL "Pepper" Johnson?

-Do you let TE Ryan on the team after missing a whole camp? Maybe you cut him, and let Pierce and Pepper BOTH on the squad?

-Do you really take Nate Jones over Bruce Thornton?

-Should we cut Gurode and let Walters back up at both guard and tackle?

-If Beriault's knee can't hold up for 16 games, maybe we keep Coady instead?

-Can you afford to cut Ogbogu, a guy who might play LB and DL?

-Can you afford to cut Carson, knowing that Fergy has been hurt and Glover is not a true NT???

-Can special teams alone give Copper a spot? Maybe Crowder is a better option?

Other notes:
I think the A-train has made this team; he looks good, and Parcells loves RBs. I think Polite makes the team because the offense looks more promising with him than with only TEs.

Suspect 5 WRs and take someone from elsewhere probably TE.

Can Pierce go to the PS?

You have 10 spots for RB, FB and TE...gonna have to cut that down to 8. Ryan could be gone in spite of how much Parcells likes him; especially since Pierce has been having a good camp. Much hand wringing over which RBs to keep; Julius is a given but it would not surprise me to see any one of the others cut.

Gonna have to keep more than 4 WR's; we have 4 WR sets and need depth. I think Morgan stays unless he gets too noisey about his playing time and maybe Rector or Copper.

7 DL: Glover, Ferguson, Canty, Ellis, Coleman, Spears, Raitliff
8 LB: Ware/Thornton, Singleton/Burnett, Nguyen/Shanle, James/Fowler

this is why you have to cut down on the RB/FB/TE group. that gives us a spot for "Pepper" who I think makes the team in place of Carson.

Plus 2 kickers is 53.

You keep both and cut Ryan (PS if he clears waivers).

-Do you really take Nate Jones over Bruce Thornton?
Yes keep the parakeet.

-Should we cut Gurode and let Walters back up at both guard and tackle?
Nope you cut Walters and let Gurode backup both positions.

-If Beriault's knee can't hold up for 16 games, maybe we keep Coady instead?
I think you keep Beriault and use him on ST...then get his knee fixed in the offseason so he can compete for the FS job next year.

-Can you afford to cut Ogbogu, a guy who might play LB and DL?

-Can you afford to cut Carson, knowing that Fergy has been hurt and Glover is not a true NT???
I think you keep Ogbogu for depth at OLB, I think he can switch sides as needed. I think you cut Carson and keep Pepper.

-Can special teams alone give Copper a spot? Maybe Crowder is a better option?

We simply do not have enough spots to keep all of the TE/RB/FB types that we would like to but someone we want to keep will have to go.

We cut Walters, Tucker and Robinson keeping Pierce, Ryan, and add Morgan, Ogsdgfgu, and Pepper. Also cut Scott and add Coady. Replace Thorton with Jones and put Thorton on PS. We have LA, Vollers, and Gurode as swing OL, no need to carry 10.

I'd love to cut Robinson, but who long snaps? I don't think anyone either of us mentions as guys who make the team can do it.

Also, I thought I heard that Parcells LOVES Walters and that there's no way he gets cut; that was my biggest reason for including him.

Thanks for the replies. Always fun to talk about this stuff.

Pierce, he can long snap and play the 3rd TE spot. More valuable right now than Robinson. He is having a nice camp, making some tight catches and he can block. Walters is nothing, he bring no more value and even less than Vollers, LA, and Gurode. LA can play both guard spots in a crunch as well as RT. Vollers can play both T positions, and Gurode can play C and guard in a crunch.

Not too bad. No way do we only keep 4 WR's though. We have to keep 5 at the position, with the 5th guy helping out a lot on special teams.

I had 10 OL on my earlier lists as well, but I think we take it down to 9. Gurode can play OG/C and Walter is versatile.

I guess if BP likes Ryan that much we should keep him, but the guy hasn't played in forever and Robinson can play TE in goalline situations, so I would cut Ryan and add depth to another position.

I really agree with this post, as if I had written it. About the only variation I see.......... I think Quincy Morgan will probably be cut. I dont think Copper makes the team. I think Crowder takes Copper's place.
