After reading everyone's posts, searching through various draft sites, and watching the CZ draft unfold I've finally arrived at my final prediction. I think the draft will go one of two ways depending on the first selection. My apologies to all the Carpenter and Lawson proponents.

1. Chad Greenway, OLB, Iowa: Combines the best of Lawson and Carpenter in that he is a gifted athlete who not only was productive in college but has room for improvement.

2. Babatunde Oshinowo, DT, Stanford: A bit of a reach but he'll be gone by the time we pick in the third.

3. Danieal Manning, S, Abilene Christian

5. Fred Mantua, OG, USC.

6. Cory Rogers, WR, TCU

7. Jeromey Clay, OT, Kansas State

Or.....

1. Donte Whitner, S, Ohio State

2. Babatunde Oshinowo DT, Stanford

3. Rob Sims, OG, Ohio State

5. Clint Ingram, ILB, Oklahoma

6. Cory Rogers, WR, TCU

7. Jeromey Clay, OT, Kansas State

I like Oshinowo and Manning but I hate Greenway and dont want him in any round...he isnt very physical and isnt much of a pass rush threat...I thought he was easily one of the more overhyped, overrated players in the country last yr

Whitner is a good player but I wouldnt touch him at 18...if we moved to the bottom of the 1st (say 30-32) and we took him I wouldnt complain

The ideal is moving down but I didn't want to assume.

As for Greenway, I think his productivity and potential warrants an 18th pick. The things he's mostly criticized for, strength and tackling, are correctable and he seems to be a hard working, high character type that will do what's necessary to improve his game. He's still developing.

18 is very tough to predict in this draft. I think Whitner starts at FS (can play CB in the event of injury) and immediately improves our defense. I think that's worthy of the 18th.
