This is my final mock draft before the real event. In my 1st ones, I've tried to stay away from dealing with any potential trades, but in this one I'll go over what I would try to do. Here are the 1st editions:

I'm starting to believe that we won't be making a selection on Thursday night. The O-Lineman that I think we're looking at, will most likely all be gone. We will be left with options such as Alualu, Allen, Mays and maybe McCourty. I also think some surprises may be there. I would take any of those names with the 27th pick(except Mays), but I think this is where a team wanting to get their choice of 2nd round worthy QB's moves up to guarantee they get their guy. This is where teams like Cleveland, Oakland, Buffalo, Denver and New England, will be trying to package some picks to get back into the 1st rd. I also think we move Marty B and Spears. So without further adu, here are my picks:

-Trade 1(27) to New England for New England's 2(44) and 2(53)-- They do this because they want Tebow, and have to get in front of Buffalo. They'll still have a 2nd rounder left.
-Trade Marty B to Cincy for 2(54)-- They do this becuz I think they pass on Gresham in the 1st to fill another hole.
-Trade Spears to Rams for 4(99)-- They get a solid young vet for the DL, to put beside Long, after trading away Carriker.

2(44 from NE) Tyson Alualu DT, Cal, (6'3, 300) A guy we would consider taking at 27, drops into our laps at 44. High motor, already has played DE in 3-4. He'll be what we thought we would be getting out of Spears.

2(53 from NE) Jared Veldheer OT, Hillsdale College, (6'8, 312) Athletic, big OT can be groomed to take over at RT if Free works out at LT or LT if he doesn't. Perfect swingman OT.

2(54 from Cincy) Morgan Burnett FS, Georgia Tech, (6'2 210) Playmaker, centerfield type safety. Can also help in return game.

2(59) Jordan Shipley WR, Texas, (5'11, 193) I know this early for Shipley, but becuz this will be our 4th pick in the round, I consider it a luxury well worth indulging in. Slot WR, return man, and Romo doesn't have to hold for FG's and extra points anymore.

3(90) Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida, (6'3, 250) We have potential replacements for Brookings LB spot in Carpenter, Williams, and Hodge. We need someone to groom to take over James' spot.

4(99 from StL) J.D Walton, C/OG, Baylor, (6'3, 300) Versatile inside lineman. Immediate upgrade over Proctor. Tough, mauler type

4(125) Kevin Thomas, CB, USC, (6', 192) Solid all around corner, can provide quality depth and may develop into starter worthy talent.

6(196) Andrew Quarless, TE, Penn St., (6'5, 254) I knew I wanted a TE with this pick after trading Marty B, but didn't know what kind. Blocking? I had the TE from Illinois in mind. Receiving? Graham from Wisconsin. Athletic potential? TE from Houston. I settled on Quarless becuz he seemed to have the best mix of all 3 areas.

7(234) Jameson Konz, FB, Kent State, (6'4, 234) This is my pet cat for the year. Will need some coaching as he played TE and LB in college, but all that tells me is that he has some nice hands and he's not afraid to stick his nose into the mix. He may be a poor man's Dorin Dickerson, he did outperform all of Dickerson's numbers at his pro day.

would be a great class to see develop--some chancey guys and too light on OL for me but I would be excited about this draft

Word on Brandon Spikes is he may not be fastest to play LB in the NFL. (coverage wise) He seems to have a nose for the ball, but if he can't stick with a TE or 3rd WR, he will get exposed. Which is why at one point the "draft experts" were talking 1st round grade for him, but he started to free fall once they started talking to actual NFL scouts. (cause the draft experts don't know ****)

As for Shipley, at absolute best, I would draft him with a 5th round pick. More likely a 6th or beyond. He has some skills, but there is a lot to worry about with him. (injuries, etc) He will never be near as productive as say a Wes Welker, and as a return man he will probably live on IR.

I know that Odrick and Tyson Alualu are good players. I know that if spears or one of the others are gone this year or next we would have these guys ready to step in.

I know they would be good value...but I really just hate the idea of drafting a 3-4 DE with our first pick.

I just think we could get equal value in a position that would fit more of a need.

Now, I will not whine and moan about it and call JJ a moron and so on if they draft these guys. But I just think we can get equal value, bpa in another position that also fits more of a need.

Of course if we would get one of those two (probably not a chance) with our original 2nd round pick...maybe that would ease me a tad.:D It's not that I don't like the players...I do and really like Odrick. I just think we should address O-Line, DBs, WR (if someone like dez fell) and maybe MLB/ILB more than DE at the top of the draft and I would imagine that at least one player of value that fits BPA would fall to us that would fit one of those other areas.

However if we do take one of these guys with our first pick. I will hope they do well and in turn helps the team. Again not going to throw some fit like some tend to do when the team does not do as they think it should.

I think Odrick has more value than any safety in the draft bar Eric Berry. His motor alone would be huge. Not to mention he is smart, quick, and very strong.

Now, if we were to take Pouncey or Itupi over Odrick, I would have no issues at all. If we took someone like Bruce Campbell or maybe even Charles Brown over Odrick, I might.

Now don't get me wrong, I would draft both Brown and Campbell. I just think that Odrick is a far better value. He probably isn't a Jay Ratliff type of guy, but I think he will be better than anything we have now including Olshansky. He will have better penetration on passing downs. Though he may not be quit as solid as Olshansky at stopping the run. Though, I suspect he will be as least as good as Spears.

Awesome draft, not entirely unrealistic either.

Change Thomas to Syd Quan Thompson and I'd be the happiest fan around

27 is not worth 2 second rounders.
Agreed. #27 is worth 680
#44 is 460 and #53 is 370 for a total of 830

We're 150 points off

To make the trade somewhat plausible we'd have to give up our 3rd rounder #91 which is worth 136.
So I could see our 1st and 3rd for their two 2nds. Number's wise we'd still be coming out ahead.
