Final Mock Draft

He is 15 on Dane's board. That's in the middle of round 1.
I respect Dane a lot but Faulk is very similar to Shemar Stewart for me without the high end athleticism-both had very poor production in the SEC and i just see how he will get sacks in the NFL.if we want a run defender then we dont have to us the 12th pick to get one.

Love your trade downs. Man I wish the Cowboys would do this and guarantee 3 starters for the defense.
:hammer: That would be the way I would try to go....would rather go with Lawrence instead of Hood though...and CJ instead of Rodriguez.

It is very possible and the trade downs looked very realistic from what they were trading up for.
Everything is up in the air. I am in favor of the trade down option no matter if we could trade up for Bailey, Sonny or Caleb. This is not a great draft but we can get three starters and two depth pieces if we make the right trade back. I would rather have two front seven players, a nickel, and edge rusher than one top end player in this draft. I would take Faulk, Allen, Scott, and Perkins.

With 2 1st rd picks they have a lot of flexibility, can move either up or down. We aren't 1 good player away, where it makes sense to load up on multiple positions with a few trades.

I wanted to keep this as realistic as possible, used the consensus board on PFN:

2 Trades

Received 17 & 50 for 12 & 112 from Washington (they traded their original pick to Detroit) Washington took Lemon
Received 29 &40 from the Chiefs for 20 & 92. Chiefs took McCoy

17-Faulk DE Auburn
29-Hood CB Tenn
40-Rodriguez LB Texas Tech (Allen went to Bills at 26)
50-Scott Nickel Miami
152-Fisher LB Indy
177-Corleone NT Cincy
180-JC Davis G Auburn
218-Daniel WR Miami

Believe the defense has really be upgraded, a post draft trade for a pass rusher like Greenard/Sweat could really solidify our pass rush, which I wasn't able to address.
With your first three picks, would’ve probably taken a pass rusher at 50. I like Scott but with drafting hood I just think 50 is better spent on a De/olb

Really wasn’t much value there as the edges were already picked over, think Thomas was the only one worthy

JRod may need to be drafted at 29. He probably wont make it to 40.

I'd probably take him over a second corner. I think he or Malachi Lawrence would be a good get at 50. Both are more pass rushers than run defenders at this point, but we need a little juice off the edge.

Two things, nickel is a very important position for CP’s scheme, heard the nfl scouts are much higher on Lawrence, where he is expected to be taken in the 1st rd and might be much higher then we all expect

I understand on nickel. I just think if we invest a first-round pick in a corner that we don’t need to turn around and invest a second, especially with so many other needs.

Remember our dc is a former db coach, he wants to solidify the back end, just look at the 30 visits it is littered with secondary players

I understand but the resources are limited. It is hard to hit on players in the first round, much less the later rounds. If we want to improve the pass rush, then we can’t afford to spend two picks that early on cornerbacks.
