Final Mock (trade back)

Having Cade York last season would have probably meant a 1st round bye. We probably win at least two of TB, LV, and Arizona and possibly all three with a good kicker. Zuerline cost us TB and LV, and missed a FG in a 3 point Arizona loss.
Cade York is a must draft player!! I hope they finally draft a kicker!!

No reason to think he cant kick off in the NFL. Its not even what it used to be

Why? If he didn’t do it in college, why do you assume he will on the pros?

Give me Cameron Dicker from Texas. Not only can he handle kickoffs, the kid can punt too. A multi-faceted weapon vs a specialist.

Why couldnt he do it in the pro's. Nowadays most KO's are touchbacks

Yorks percentage over 50 yards is higher than Dicker's overall percentage. Dicker only has one year over 80%. There is a huge difference between the two. Give me the guy that is going to win me games. Kick offs in the todays NFL isnt something Im worried about. Im sure a guy that is 15 for 19 in his career over 50 yards can handle kickoffs

Honestly, I foresee none of the OL we keep getting mocked will be available at 24…
Suspect Linderbaum, Green, and Zion are all gone, probably the kid from Northern Iowa too.
My hunch is that we will have to take a great player at another position who falls because of the run on OL, or else we reach or trade back.

I love that one too. So many of the same names I’ve been taking. I can handle taking a kicker given everything else that was accomplished. That RB at the end is a head scratcher for me.

A lot of mocks has us taking a RB
Who would 3rd and rarely get on the field

How about the fact that Dicker had a higher FG% in 2021 than York did? The young man made huge improvements over the past year.

I will take the total package vs a specialist.

Maybe you are. But I’m not OK with simply assuming he can do what he hasn’t before.

I don’t have a big issue with taking one. I think both that we have now could be gone after this year.

Come on man, you dont think a K with Yorks range can handle kickoffs in the NFL? Its literally kicking off a T into the back of the endzone. Im sure LSU had other reasons for not having kick off other than he couldnt. Its not uncommon to have punters handle kickoffs. Maybe they wanted save his leg for critical kicks.

I dont dislike Dickler. Im just not big on drafting him. Maybe if we had 7th, but we dont. He had a higher percentage than York this year, yes. But he hasnt been consistent. Who is yo say he isnt another Nick Folk who could 90% one year and then 75% the next. He is PFA to me

I can see them taking a day 2 graded guy in the 4th. They talked to alot of them at the combine. Walker and Spiller of the top of my head

I think the odds of all 3 of Zion, Green, and Linderbaum all going in the top 23 is pretty close to 0…but if by some miracle they do I’d be happy with a “great” player falling.

I’m being honest and saying ‘I don’t know’. And neither do you to be honest.

Folk is a good example of a guy improving and carving out a long career for himself.

I can see them using one of those 5th rounders on one to ‘apprentice’ for 2022.

I like Pierce, Abram Smith, or ZaQuandre White.

Remember Ron Leary when you hear this stuff about future knee issues. He went undrafted becuase of it and went on to have a good career.
Leary had 2 good seasons in Dallas then didn't do much in Denver due to knee problems...He retired early due to knee problems.

It's more likely that all 3 are available than none.

Highly likely at least 1 is available at #30.

Interior linemen don't usually go higher than thought. More likely to drop if anything. Seems like people always expect whoever the Cowboys like to go higher than they pick.

I would be very happy with that. Williams would be the only pick I dislike but I also realize that he's a very realistic pick for Dallas in the 2nd.

I would much rather have Paschal or D. Jackson if avail. Williams isn't bendy and ends up on the ground too much. Combined with his off the field stuff, I think his bust potential is too high for a 2nd round pick.

Interesting…going to have to disagree on Williams not being bendy. I definitely see the ability to flatten and turn the corner affectively.

I do like Jackson as a target if he falls to the 3rd round. 2nd would be a too rich

Not a big fan of Paschal tho unless we are talking 4th round. I think he’ll find a role in the nfl, just not sure he will be a serious pass rusher, which I think we need.

RB Jay Ajayi also had degenerative knee issues too, as a result though he had first round talent, he went in the middle of the draft to Miami to due red flag medical issues.
