I'm so happy that the draft is just around the corner and we will get to see which out of the dozens and dozens of players we have all discussed will get to wear a Star on their helmet. So hear are my final thoughts
Round 1: DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa - I can already hear it. Some of you reading are shaking your head, some are shrugging their shoulders, and the rest are saying this guy.. this guy gets it. I know he is not the right away big impact player we are hoping to drop to us but with 2 top rated players(Collins and Gregory) killing their draft stock players are going to move up as they move on down. He fills a need on the Dline and has the potential to be something great.
Round 2: FS P.J. Williams- Top 45 talent that can be sitting at 60. I think he can be a good CB but i think he has the potential to a great playmaker at FS.
Round 3: DT Marcus Hardison- Pass rushing 3 tech with the size to be able to play the 1 tech on our line
Round 4: RB Jay Ajayi- Good rb that has lost value at a position that is already devalued. i think their a chance he can make it to our 5th round pick but to keep it realistic im taking him here. if we can get good use out of his cheap 4 year contract then i don't care if he wont last longer like some of the other backs in the draft.
Round 5: CB Craig Mager- Just a good CB that has not gotten the same attention as the big school corners. Great value in the 5th.
Round 7: OT Laurence Gibson- I see him going earlier on most mocks but his draft grade is 5-7. I like the chances of him being at our 1st pick in the 7th as he is scheme limited and needs a good amount of strength training and technique work.
Round 7: OG Jarvis Harrison- I always pick him here and for good reason. He should go in the 3rd but his concerns have scared off teams. we have very strong leadership in the lockroom and on the Oline so i think we can get the best out of him. Can back up multiple spots on the line even be a swing tackle. Potential steal of the draft.
No big right away impact players but 4 solid starter material players that can improve the defense and make sure we keep a very strong run game. Then 3 players that can be some real suprises. Thank you for reading. I love this draft and i would like to hear everyone's thoughts on the players and if this is realistic.
