1st. The mock I would like to see happen. In no way do I think it will but this is what I would try to do if I was Dallas.

1. Rams Goff
2. Iggles Wentz
3. SD Ramsey

Picks 4 and 189 traded for picks 7, 68 and 105. We come out ahead about 17 points but it is close in value. SF gets Tunsil keeping him out of the hands of the Giants.

4. SF -Tunsil.
5. Jax- Jack
6. Balt - Buckner
7.

Dallas trades pick 7 to Tampa for Picks 9, 148(we Now have a 5th rd pick) and QB Glennon. The diff in value is equal to a late 3rd rd pick. Tampa is rumored to want a 3rd and some think they will take a 4th so a late 3rd is just about right. Glennon is instant no 2 and is possible franchise QB after some grooming.

7. Tampa - Joey Bosa
8. Cle- Paxton Lynch
9.

Dallas trades picks 9 and 148 to NO for picks 12 and 78. This keeps Treadwell away from the Giants. The value is pretty even here with us winning by 17 points.

9. NO - Treadwell
10. Giants - Ronnie Stanley
11. Chi - Jack Conklin
12

With the 12th pick of the 2016 NFL draft the Dallas Cowboys select Ezekiel Elliott RB from The Ohio State University.

We add picks 68, 78, and 105 plus our Backup QB who might be better than anyone we could get in the draft this year and is still young enough to be groomed as a future starter but is definitely more ready to step in now if Romo is injured again.

We now have picks

12 Elliott RB

34 Jonathan Bullard DE

We trade picks 67 and 78 to move up to 46 We lose the points by 15

46. Karl Joseph SS

We trade picks 68, 101 and 105 for picks 53 and 120. Close in value with us winning by 6 points

Pick 53 Kendall Fuller CB

Pick 120 Ronald Blair DE

Pick 135 Adolphus Washington DT

Pick 212 Spencer Drango OG

Pick 216 Terrance Smith LB

Pick 217 Jakeem Grant WR/KR

So there you have it. The Defensive line is dramatically improved with 3 new pieces. The RB everyone is clamoring for is now a Cowboy. The secondary is transformed with a legit SS and a CB that allows us to move on from Carrs huge contract after this year. A huge mauling OG for depth. A lB for depth with high upside and another WR/KR weapon that could be used in specific packages. Plus we add a legit backup QB with future starter potential.

I know it is a lot of trades and not probably going to happen but this is the type of draft I would be thrilled to have and it would make losing out on Ramsey palatable.

Next up - the draft I think we will see.

That amount of trading down would never happen, but I'm on board with Zeke as our 1st rounder.

Borderline impossible to pull off, but I'd love the final results!

I am not sure I want it to be the Cowboys, but I would love to see a team try to do this and see how many picks they could get while still keeping a first rounder

I agree that it is difficult but each trade makes sense. SF moves up a few spots to get possibly the best player in the draft. Tampa moves up a couple of spots to get Bosa who while I don't think he is what we need, I think Tampa could want him and he is considered by some as the safest pick. NO jumps ahead of the giants to get Treadwell who really I think is the only threat of taking him before NO is on the clock. Plus we stay ahead of Miami who could take Zeke.

It is certainly against the odds that we could pull this off but man it sure fills some holes and we even get the back up qb we desperately need.

Sorry, but Glennon stinks on ice. Give me Hogan or Allen in the 4th, or even Jake Coker late or priority FA.

I like the theory of trading down for picks, but in practice, the last time Jerry tried multiple trades (down and then back up) we got Quincy Carter and Tony Dixon.

Keep it simple. If Tunsil is there and we use him to trade down, accept that you could miss Zeke or Rankins or whoever. Don't get cute.

I want the Zack Martin of defensive linemen, corners or safeties. If no player like that is there at 4, drop and add picks.

I think Glennon is a much better candidate than the second tier of QB's and most definitely better than the 3rd tier guys like Hogan and Allen and I say that as a fan of Hogan. Hogan definitely would not be ready to start this year if Romo go's down. Glennon can.

Jerry disastrous draft after trading down had to do with picking the wrong guys not the trading down.

Rankins might be the Zack Martin of defensive linemen. I really believe we could even trade back further and get even more picks while still landing a great talent in the first but I was specifically looking for a way to fill all the holes and add Elliott whom a lot of people are drooling over and I agree would be a great player in our system.

I also wanted to add some serious talent to the DL which I feel I did with Bullard, Blair and Washington.

I also wanted to fix the secondary which I feel was done with the addition of Joseph and Fuller. Carr and Church are the two contracts that bother me the most on this team.

I also wanted to add a LB with some upside and a Big OG that might be able to help specifically on short yardage situations and eventually be a starting quality guard.

I also wanted to give lucky some competition as a KR and add a WR that even though he is not a No 2 type could create some problems for defenses in specific packages.

Getting a legit backup QB with upside was the icing on the cake.

Nice effort!

Not a huge proponent of Elliot in round 1, but more palatable where you took him.

Well thought out– and a nice collection of talent brought in.

Like your picks a lot, would be happier with a different veteran QB, that's all.

No way Elliott falls to 12. Someone will want to trade up for him if he keeps falling.

It's possible Miami could jump up there somewhere. I am not seeing a ton of teams linked to him. Maybe the Giants but I think they need O-line help. Philly was a good candidate to take him before they traded up. Not sure how you can make such a definitive statement as there is no way Ellliott falls to 12. That is about where the top RB normally go's.

Same as how you can make such a definitive statement with your mock.

Nothing is definite in life, much less the NFL draft, but I think it's a pretty good bet that Zeke doesn't make it out of the top ten. The Giants love him and Miami is rumored to be be dealing with San Diego to get in front of us (Kiper/ESPN Radio). It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him gone to Baltimore at #6. In my opinion, if guy you have a guy you want, you don't mess around.
