Bored with a few hours to kill so ill kill the time with a mock or shall i say 2 of them.

This is what i was hoping for before Dez was released

19- DT Vita Vea, Washington- Monster run Stuffing 1 tech with solid pass rushing potential. Takes the front 7 to a new level.

50- OG Austin Corbett, Nevada- Smart, technically sound, solid all around guard. Needs to get stronger but is a day 1 starter who will complete this Oline and immediatly help bring back the same dominance we saw in 2016 from the Oline.

81- LB Darius Leonard, South Carolina State- Athletic LB who can play all 3 LB positions. Starts our overhaul of LB depth and hopefully takes over at WILL down the line.

116- DL Breeland Speaks, Ole Miss- Doubling down on Dline early. Versatile D lineman who can play all 4 spots in a 4 man front. With Crawford hopefully cut next year, Speaks is a good option for his replacement.

137- S Tracy Walker, La.-Lafayette- This years Xavier woods. Really similar players. Bigger then woods though. Can see Walker and Woods eventually becoming our 2 starting safeties.

171-WR Antonio Callaway, Florida- Red flag player who is hard to pass up on at this point. Would be a top 50 prospect without the off field problems.

192- ILB Mike McCray, Michigan- Thinking this pick is used in a trade up but didnt want to make a complicated mock with trades. Strong 2 down thumper at the MIKE. Good special teams player.

193- CB Darius Phillips, WMU- Same with pick before. Pick probably is used to trade up but Phillips gives us more depth in the secondary. Competition for Marquez white for that final CB spot. Tons of experience as kickoff and punt return man is just a plus. Will probably end up beating out White.

208-DL Kentavius Street ,NC State- Not sure where he goes but his rookie year will be spent on IR. Was looking like a mid round prospect before he tore his ACL. With both our best D linemen on 1 year deals, I'm doing all i can to try and make sure we have good cheap depth in the trenches.

236- RB Ito Smith, Southern Miss
- This team loves having a pass catching back for 3rd downs. Smith fits what they are looking for.

This is what I think happens now after Dez's release

19- WR DJ Moore, Maryland- I want defense in the first but if we are going WR then i hope its Moore. Soft hands, explosive athlete, solid route runner, and has the same kind of fight and toughness Steve Smith had.

50- OG Austin Corbette, Nevada- Same write up

81- RB Nyheim Hines, NC State- They seem to love Hines. They are hoping hes a Darren Sproles clone but i don't see it. Sproles in his prime was a special player.

116- OLB Fred Warner, BYU- Decent linebacker who can play both outside linebacker spots. Can take over for Lee if he gets inured which he most likely will.

137- DT Deadrin State, South Florida- Strong squaty DT with a quick first step. Solid run stuffer with decent pass rush potential. Not my first choice but certainly an upgrade over who we have been starting at the 1tech.

171- S DeShon Elliot, Texas- Strong safety with some coverage ability. Not consistent enough to start at FS but he can split snaps with Frazier at strong safety.

192- ILB Mike McCray, Michigan- Same write up

193- CB Darius Phillips, WMU- Same write up

208- OT Greg Senat, Wagner- Athletic traits development OT who will spend his time on the practice squad. Possibility of getting picked up after awhile.

236- TE David Wells, San Diego State- Solid Blocking tight end with potential to become a receiving threat. Competition for our 3rd tight end spot. most likely picked up right away if sent to the practice squad.

The 2nd one is not bad at al. I like both. If some how we could get Leonard in that one, it would an A+ draft in my book.

I like the 2nd one except for the Hines pick

Yea I’m hoping they pass on him and hope he last till 116 but they have shown a lot on interest in Hines. I think they take him at 81 after Philly trading up in the 4th and taking the scat back they wanted last year

loved both.
but if we come away with dj moore/austin corbett....now THAT is Dak-friendly.
Yea I really want Corbett. He just needs to add some strength. Could end up being a better guard then Hernandez after a few years in an NFL weight room

That is what I was debating too but I am hoping somehow we can get both.

Corbette is likely because he was in for a visit

Yea they seem really high on him if they cant get Hernandez. Some reports are that his technique could end up making him more dominant in the NFL then Hernandez.

Really like the first one, even with the loss of Dez.
First one is still possible but not as likely now. Hurns Could fill in as our X receiver for the year. Focus on the ground game and defense like how Jacksonville has been doing.

I really liked both. I wonder though, if we could possibly get Vea, Corbett and then get Chark in the 3rd or possibly trade up a bit for him. I just love the idea of finally getting a guy like Vea and also getting a guard to help the oline, while still being able to grab a WR with good potential that can stretch the D... finally.

Depends on if someone fell in love with his straight line speed. He doesn't have the best hands but if someone really wants a burner to stretch the field, someone will take him Early. Some good WRs are projected to go in the 3rd. Possibility a top 100 talent WR slips to day 3. Have to trade up and get him if a good one fell into the 4th. Even if we have to give up both 4ths.

I like the draft with the exception of the Hines pick. Would rather see them take Ian Thomas or another TE or even another WR like St Brown etc. if they are going to use the pick on an offensive player.
