Getting it in a few days early because Ill be traveling home the the next couple days and not sure how often Ill be able to post. This what I think will happen. Not what I am hoping happens.

1) Jahmyr Gibbs. They want a playmaker here, and I think Robinson the WR's and Kincaide are gone. Its Gibbs VS Mayer, and I think they go Gibbs. I think the Cowboys will have him graded highly. They love premier athletes, and Gibbs is that as well as a dynamic player

2) Mazi Smith. I think he falls because he is way more measurables than ability right now. He even needs work as a run defender. Keanu Benton is the better player, and may always. However I think if he falls the Cowboys gamble on his upside. He could eventually be a 3 down player. But its a risk. I was thinking him or Mingo here, but Im not even Mingo lasts.

3) Rashee Rice. Alot of upside here. Great 10 yard split and vertical. Good player but needs some work. #2+ potential. Bust potential too. But late in the third, he is a good get.

4) Byron Young (Alabama). Keep in mind there are two Byron Youngs in this draft. Byron Young is the oppisite of Mazi Smith. You already know what you are getting with him. A good run defending 3T with some pass rush ability who has the ability to play 4i (4i is a very underrated need). He will be a good player, but never a great one.

5) Eli Ricks. This maybe optimistic, because Ive seen him as high as the 3rd, but I think there is a good chance in what is considered a deep draft that this is where he lands. Needs alot of work, but has the makeup of a Quinn CB

6) Jake Moody. Cowboys finally get their kicker

7) Mekhi Garner. See Eli Ricks but even more work

Some thoughts:

I think they punt on OL. If doesnt happen earlier, I dont think it happens. Not a deep class. I could see them signing Mafi as a UDFA if he goes undrafted

I think they will look to add a QB they like as a UDFA. Duggan most likely as I dont see him getting drafted

They want a power back, so a name I like as a UDFA is Evan Hull of Northwestern. Very good north/south guy who will be limited to running downs because he isn't good in pass pro. Will be a productive runner though. In weaker class, would get drafted, but likely goes undrafted in this class

You and I are on the exact same page in round 1

I’m not as convinced as you are that Kincaid will be gone- I also don’t think they want Mayer

Gibbs
Kincaid
Musgrave

I think it’s one of these 3 at 26

I think Musgrave hype has cooled a bit. I dont think he will go first like Washington probably wont

Love rounds 2-4 but can’t behind a RB in the 1st.
I love Gibbs. I can tolerate that pick that late because he will catch 70 passes a season. Id probably still draft someone else, but I think they are set on a skill player high and Gibbs will be the best one available. I do think the Cowboys will have a high grade on Gibbs though

He won’t if Dallas doesn’t take him. But you know how Dallas is. They don’t care. They take their guy no matter what. I absolutely think Gibbs is in play

I figure we are going to see some DL prospects from you. Defensive trenches are improved, but not much help for the offense, where they need the most. Gibbs is good, but you have to use him in the passing game, which I don't trust this team to do. Rice is a good yac player, but as you said more of a developmental guy. No G or TE, either.

Maybe…but I don’t think a RB that catches a lot of dump offs and texas routes justifies the pick.

You could get a good pass catching RB much later at a much better value.

Our QB / O also doesn’t traditionally throw the ball a lot to the RBs.

They are going to end up punting on some positions we are all sure they will draft. I think its going to be OL and TE. IMO if it doesnt happen early, it may not happen at all. Particularly OL where I dont think the middle of the class is very good

Gibbs is a major help to the offense. WR, we have our top 3 so anyone we draft is likely 4. Any OL we draft has a very good (even likely) chance at being a reserve. A player like Gibbs pretty forces you to use him in the passing game. I dont McCarthy will have an issue making that adjustment. Would have been nice to improve TE, but it just might not happen. Cant fix everything in one draft

I just dont see them drafting a skinny RB with bird legs, that is the same mold as Pollard in the first round. Maybe they see McCaffrey and use him that way? He just doesnt look the part of a guy that can take a pounding over a 17 game season. But hey I have been wrong before.

You dont take a player like Gibbs to pound him. He will probably never get more than 230 carries in a year.

Idk I’m beginning to think Mayer is exactly who they want. Robinson won’t be there and the draft is deep at RB so not sure I’d go Gibbs in the first. And we all know things never pan out they way we think they will. Getting Parsons after trading back I’m sure was a surprise to most fans.

It better not be Musgrave over Gibbs. I’d go to the Star and raise holy hell with Jerry.

That would be just dumb
@darthseinfeld this question is for both of you

Does R. Jones allow you to go into the season with Gibbs and Pollard as the two main RBs and Jones as short yardage / goal line?

They will need a short yardage back then but I think you aren’t giving jones enough credit
Short yardage backs aren't hard to find. Ronald Jones is this year James Washington. A vet signing that people want to make a thing

I’m not making him a thing. He’s a short yardage back. Rb3 behind pollard and Gibbs. That guy isn’t getting many touches
