I’m not making him a thing. He’s a short yardage back. Rb3 behind pollard and Gibbs. That guy isn’t getting many touches
He isnt that type of runner. He is much of a stretch runner than an interior runner

Not sure Jones is better as a short-yardage back than Malik Davis. Jones is listed at 5-11, 208. Davis is 5-11, 202, but also stands a better chance at this point in his career of putting on some muscle weight. Pollard is listed as 6-0, 209. None of those really scream short-yardage back, but I don't know if we'll go with a short-yardage back. Both Pollard and Gibbs have shown some inside running ability to complement their speed on the edges. None of them are Zeke-like, but Zeke had to be tougher between the tackles because he wasn't going to win the edge that often, especially the last couple of years.

Getting it in a few days early because Ill be traveling home the the next couple days and not sure how often Ill be able to post. This what I think will happen. Not what I am hoping happens.

1) Jahmyr Gibbs. They want a playmaker here, and I think Robinson the WR's and Kincaide are gone. Its Gibbs VS Mayer, and I think they go Gibbs. I think the Cowboys will have him graded highly. They love premier athletes, and Gibbs is that as well as a dynamic player

2) Mazi Smith. I think he falls because he is way more measurables than ability right now. He even needs work as a run defender. Keanu Benton is the better player, and may always. However I think if he falls the Cowboys gamble on his upside. He could eventually be a 3 down player. But its a risk. I was thinking him or Mingo here, but Im not even Mingo lasts.

3) Rashee Rice. Alot of upside here. Great 10 yard split and vertical. Good player but needs some work. #2+ potential. Bust potential too. But late in the third, he is a good get.

4) Byron Young (Alabama). Keep in mind there are two Byron Youngs in this draft. Byron Young is the oppisite of Mazi Smith. You already know what you are getting with him. A good run defending 3T with some pass rush ability who has the ability to play 4i (4i is a very underrated need). He will be a good player, but never a great one.

5) Eli Ricks. This maybe optimistic, because Ive seen him as high as the 3rd, but I think there is a good chance in what is considered a deep draft that this is where he lands. Needs alot of work, but has the makeup of a Quinn CB

6) Jake Moody. Cowboys finally get their kicker

7) Mekhi Garner. See Eli Ricks but even more work

Some thoughts:

I think they punt on OL. If doesnt happen earlier, I dont think it happens. Not a deep class. I could see them signing Mafi as a UDFA if he goes undrafted

I think they will look to add a QB they like as a UDFA. Duggan most likely as I dont see him getting drafted

They want a power back, so a name I like as a UDFA is Evan Hull of Northwestern. Very good north/south guy who will be limited to running downs because he isn't good in pass pro. Will be a productive runner though. In weaker class, would get drafted, but likely goes undrafted in this class
Nice. We both had Gibbs and Young at 1 and 4 in our drafts. I originally had Ricks as well but I took him out in my final. He ran a 4.6 40 but he’s a jammer at the line and a really good player. He started as a Freshman at LSU.
