Travis Jones was my favorite prospect in the class, but am happy with Ridgeway. He is more of that old schooled 2 down player who will take on double teams and push the pocket.

Agree. Ridgeway looks a lot better than Bohanna. Bohanna looks like just a fat guy that’s hard to move. Ridgeway is a beast who doesn’t look fat at all and is very active. Looks like a wrestler.

Drafting a project in Tyler Smith in the 1st round is what is truly mind-boggling.

He's not a project, though. He's a plug and play guy after they work with him.

He starts day one, and kills it.

I hope so. Lots of teaching to be done and corrected. Just because he's going to start does not mean he is going to do well. Time will tell.

Stephen Jones and Coach McCarthy said they really like Matt Farniok, and they have him already taking nothing but practice reps at Center. I believe Farniok is going to become our starting Center and will be a better addition to the middle of our Oline.

We've signed at least 2 centers so far as UDFA. I saw a new guy this morning, but I didn't notice if he's on the board yet. Kind of multi-tasking. But I trust they'll at the very least bring in a veteran.

Center is the most important position on any Oline. I don't care what anyone says. Your Oline goes according to how your Center performs.

I'm so glad the Cowboys are bringing in as much competition as possible to find their true and best starter at the Center position.

Now if they had drafted Jones in the 2nd round I would be happy.

the fact they even throw " anything" at the 1 tech role leaves us to be grateful for that. they could've totally ignored the 1 tech all together in the draft.

Ridgeway was a noted name among 1 techs,

i dunno why he slipped further in the rounds - and wonder why he did so,
Maybe 1 techs that are not super heralded tend to slip ..

Glad Cowboys still picked a 1 tech, ...still sought a developmental project 1 tech than just totally ignoring the role in the draft period.
Glad that they did not decide to just rely on Quinton Bohanna alone to have a chance at upgrading the 1 tech role.

5th round is a likely long shot to improve the 1 tech, improve the run defense .. but this is one of those cases where its still a long shot.

Drafting a project in Tyler Smith in the 1st round is what is truly mind-boggling.

He has some issues at LT that make him a project for the future, but he will start day one at LG and not be exposed to the speedy pass rushers outside. He’s one of the best run blockers in the draft.

Ridgeway is a little different because he’s been talked about almost all year as a guy that would be a nice addition. Not saying much but he’s 1 of the better guys that we’ve drafted from a talent standpoint at the position.

I think it’s just outstanding that he doesn’t crap his pants during practices. Willie Blade says hello.

We are trying to replace the players we lost. Wasn't Connor Williams oft penalized? I think Smith is a perfect fit at left guard. It's like Connor never left.
