Got the day off today so I stayed up kinda late last night watching the game again and taking some notes. This is my first attempt at a "game thoughts" thread so be gentle.

Ive been excited about the potential the offense since we signed TO, I remember talking to my friends about the "pick your poison" style we would be able to employ. This started coming to fruition Sunday night.

The Commanders tried so many things to stop our offense, they tried 8 in the box, doubling TO, doubling TG, a cover 2 shell, small blitzes, all out blitzes. There are way too many weapons on this offense to really stop it. Poor OL play is just about the only thing that can.

Andre Gurode played out of his mind, if he keeps this up he will be a Pro Bowler.

Jason Furgeson is easily the most important person on this D, his play is exceptional and the drop off after him is significant.

DeMarcus Ware is every bit as good as Merriman, Ware does so many more things and does them all well. And hes only beginning to tap into his potential.

Pat Watkins was a GREAT draft pick and a huge steal. He really allows Roy to do what he does. Its kinda funny how a really good coverage safety is going to make our run D really really good :D

Im on the fence on this whole Bledsoe thing. I fully understand he gives us the best chance to win right now, but at the same time, I hate not having a "franchise QB" which he is way to old to be. I would really like to see if Romo is the answer. I think he is based on preseason....but its preseason.

Tnew.....need I say more?

Commanders suck!

Matt McBriar might be the best player on the team :laugh2:

Like I said, be gentle

Pretty much agree with everything said here. Gurode has been on fire for two straight games. I, for one, am amped to see him finally playing to the potential we drafted.

thats the one thing i luke about having WAtkins back there. IT allows ROy to move around and make plays on the WR's, and ball. EVeryone wants him at the LOS, but if he was at the LOS, then who makes the INT against Cooley Roy is a great defender and i like him roaming around the field, making plays and laying out WR.

With the way Watkins is playing right now it allows Roy to do it all and that includes playing close to the line on some occasions. I like Moving Roy around because the QB has to always be looking for him and where he is lining up on any particular play.

So what age do you stop being a franchise QB? When Peyton Manning turns 34, is he no longer a franchise QB?

That's exactly why everyone is so high on him. He may not have any highlight plays yet, but he does what he's supposed to do. I bet u haven't seen anybody go deep middle on us either this year.

There is a reason Brunell kept checking down...Watkins was roaming. The Skins were afraid to try anything deep and he was one of the reasons.

hahaha, you have a very valid point. I suppose I should have clarified a little more. Bledsoe isnt good enough to be a franchise QB...how about that. Hes as good as he is ever gonna be, and its not enough, at least for me its not. Parcells wouldnt even garauntee that he will play past this week. He said "Bledseo is the starter this weekend, thats it. After that, we will see"

I guess to me, a franchise QB is a player who is talented and is gonna be here for a long time, and I prefer that hes been here all along. Homegrown if you will. However, aquiring someone such as Schaub whos playing days havent started enough would be fine. Like Seattle and Carolina did with thier "franchise" QBs.

Exactly, i would rather Roy be around the WR's making them think twice about coming iside for the ball, instead of trying to bust through the LOS, onlt to have the QB throw the ball before he gets there.

Watch Roy's play. That'll tell you how good Watkins is doing. IMO Roy is back to doing what he does best and we can thank Watkins for that.

It's so nice to have a real FS playing FS. So far so good.

I expect we will see him around the line at times and in the LB area as well as lined up deep. To have him lined up deep all the time is not taking advantage of his full abilities and the reason why Dallas used a 1st to get him.

As I mentioned in another thread earlier this week, I think Gurode is headed for the Pro-Bowl if he plays the way he did the last 2 weeks.

3 things that gave me all I needed to know about Gurode. Last year when Rivera went down for the Carolina game, Gurode came in and JJ ran behind him and had a career day.

Next, Parcells was busting his butt to get this guy an extension in the offseason and none of us could understand why.

Third, Ferguson was asked what gave him nightmares (I think that was the question during training camp) Ferguson responded with having to get up and battle with this big guy all day long ( he was referring to Gurode in Training camp )
