What Tony needs... was given! Tony Romo has been given praise. He's been given ridicule. He's even had a WR shed a tear for him. But what Roy Wi11iams did for Tony is exactly what Tony Romo has needed since he first stepped onto the scene as the Cowboys starting QB, appreciation.

When Roy told Tony that he appreciated how Tony was leading this team, that my friends spoke volumes. Just a simple, yet very powerful comment. Yeah we've heard Jason Witten defend his QB and talk about how hard Tony works and how Tony loves to compete. But this was different. This wasn't just coming from a close friend, but from a guy that Tony hasn't known all that long. Reading between the lines, Wi11iams basically said that I trust you, and I trust this 2009 season with the Cowboys.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think you are going to see Tony have a spectacular year. What was said will not be lost on Tony. And the team is going to rally around their QB. This team is going to come together.

What Tony needed, was indeed given. :star:

Great catch ......

I also loved how (as dcfanatic pointed out) a few players on the defensive side of the ball called JJT out in the locker room for things he had said about Romo.

JJT said he has never seen that before with this team.

It reminded me how guys used to get on the Dallas news about things they said about Aikman in the early 90's.

Just remember all these writers talking nice today will turn quickly.
Cowboys just need to keep working trying to improve and win games

It was indeed nice to see Williams give that nod to Tony. I don't know how much Tony actually needed to hear someone say it, as I'm not him, but I'd imagine it goes a long way to show the guy that his team mates are noticing what he's doing and appreciate it.

Interesting.. JJT noted that in his ESPN stint yesterday that he had an animated convo with some of the players defending Romo, but didn't say who.

It's in this thread - http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=163619

I think they get their jolly putting guys on the pedestal so they can knock them down. When you go back and read what they said in the past then follow it over the course of a guys career it is just so Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde

How much trouble would a player get in if they pantsed JJT?

This team has been ridiculed by everyone from the press to the fans, maybe for good reason. What they need is a bunker mentality. Us against the world. Hunker down and fight for some respect.

Exactly right.

Either that or he was just buttering up the QB so he can get the ball more.;)

I think that is taking place right now.

This is such a good post/thread. I hope it will get some of the same traffic that the drama threads do, but I won't hold my breath.

You are right Sir ! There are many fickle fans on this site and others who cry foul but not show appreciation .

Good catch !

:lmao2:. What is this high school football?

I really like what Roy brings to the team. I also, like that the defense is defending Romo. I just wish one would go Charles Haley on JJT and make his punk butt scared for his safety when he enters the locker room.

Yep this is a great thread, and you're right it won't get the same traffic as the doom and gloom threads.

You mean when that Nancy-boy, "Skip-for-Brains" said Troy was gay?

BTW, Roy Williams is the Anti-TO. All about the TEAM!

The last time Roy saw adversity in Dallas he was in Garretts office complaining about catches. But I know, I know, it was all that devils fault! Darn you 81!

Some would rather soak in their pool of misery then admit that Tony has gained well deserved faith from this team.................and fans.
