I got a scenario for you for drafting Rainmann that may not be so bad. How about at small trade down in the first to get Linderbaum and a trade up in the second to get Rainmann. Then we sign Flowers to fill the guard spot after the draft. That would upgrade the run game and make are line younger.I am starting to see many media scouts projecting Rainmann to the Cowboys at pick #24. We also know the Cowboys have shown tremendous interest with him throughout the process. He is a former TE who will be 25 at the start of the season. Biggest weakness I hear, is he needs to get stronger and is more of a developmental prospect. If you draft more of a developmental type, much rather draft Tyler Smith who possesses all the physical traits and could start day 1 inside.
I'm fine with a receiver, knowing this front office always puts major resources at the position. Remember, they traded premium draft capital to acquire Joes Galloway, Roy Williams and even Amari Cooper. If 1 of those 3 receivers they brought in for a 30 visit slides to their pick, we have to assume they will be a Cowboy.
I've been hearing Christian Watson's name mentioned in Cowboys draft comments. NFL recently moved him ahead of Dotson.
Watson at 56 would be about par value wise. Shakir in the third would be nice.I'm preparing myself for Cowboys to take Watson as high as the 2nd round, or someone like SMU"s Donnie Gray in 3rd or 4th round.
Gray is a 4.3 speedster that can also help out in the punt return game.
I think a lot of people are going to be upset when we don't take a WR at 24 or 56.
I would be totally cool with that.
I'm going to be really upset if we draft a cornerback in the 1st or 2nd round.
We have enough talent there right now. Plenty of talent.
For receiver, I can see us taking Tyquan Thorton, if we want a receiver.
He'd fit in the mix well with Lamb, Gallup, Washinton, etc.
And with his speed, he can take the top off the defense.
Lots of smoke around Raimann when it comes to the Cowboys. Dane said to Cavanaugh that you can’t rule him out. I would suspect that he would be a trade down option but I bet Philbon must really like him. So he has a sponsor on the coaching staff.

Jerry listens to everyone.Have nothing against the pick, but I'm not sure why Philbin is still here. I hope we are listening more to our scouts than coaches. Marinelli isn't too far removed.

Watson has major drop issues, read drops about 13% of his passesI'm preparing myself for Cowboys to take Watson as high as the 2nd round, or someone like SMU"s Donnie Gray in 3rd or 4th round.

Very good stat.Watson has major drop issues, read drops about 13% of his passes
Yeah, that can be worked on… but it isn’t always 100% corrected. Pro coaching will improve it but you never know. I do think he goes pretty early though. Early(ish) second is about where I see him fitting, so I really don’t see him lasting until 56. Heck, I could even see him going to Green Bay late in the first. He seems like their kind of receiver.Watson has major drop issues, read drops about 13% of his passes

The more I see information on Rainmann, I see a potential big time left tackle that is athletic as his ceiling. I like that better then a basic guard. Listened to Joe on Cowboys Blog, he said that Green has some type of knee problem.
I agree, think he goes much higher, but those drops do worry me. Heard his comp as Miles AustinYeah, that can be worked on… but it isn’t always 100% corrected. Joe of Cowboys blog predicted Rainmman to the Cowboys in his last mock draft. Also said there is an knee issue with Green. Uh Oh!!!!Don’t like that, either
First time I heard about a knee with Green, but we are in lying season now, the week of the draft. Think he is the heavy favorite to be the pick at 24Joe of Cowboys blog predicted Rainmman to the Cowboys in his last mock draft. Also said there is an knee issue with Green. Uh Oh!!!!
Green in the second then. I would love a Rainmann combination with Green.Damn, I was kinda hoping for Green too. We do pretty well drafting oline in the first so I'll give a little trust in the call if they go that route.
