Not gonna be popular on here but im not sure if we can fix the defense this year anyways so why not finish the offense and rely on Dak and the boys to make the D better by keeping them off the field and scoring a ton?

a guard? I wouldn't complain about them taking a tackle after the first or second round,,, but not a guard.

Lamp played tackle in college. I think the thinking would be he would play RT, leaving Collins at guard.

I'm all for adding offense because I feel like we are still a few missing pieces away.

But this draft is loaded with Dlineman and Defensive backs. Which is exactly what we need. We cannot ignore defense with the first 2 picks. After that I'm all for going offense.

But I do like your concept so i'll play along. If we are going to "finish the offense" then Curtis Samuel is the guy I love. You mocked him in round 2 and I'd love that. Might even pick him in RD1. I'd then like to see Evan Engram in round 2.

wouldnt mind a combo of engram/samuel myself just thought id like to put lamp into frees spot which should finish our OLine. I also wouldnt mind taking BUTT some where in my draft either if the doctors OK him.

The first two picks would anger me.

The obsession with some to find a Dumbar replacement in Samuel is perplexing to me.

Interesting. Usually tackles in college project as guards in the NFL and not the other way around.

I like the sentiment. I think and I hope we address the OL, especially RT in this draft. I have little faith that Green can stay healthy and I have no faith in Bell not sucking. Even if Bell plays decently or Green stays healthy, both Bell and Cooper are on one year deals so I would like a young guy or two in the pipeline ready for '18. I would rather not try to find our Dunbar/Lucky replacement in day 2. I think guys like TJ Logan or Cohen or Thomas from Temple could get picked up in the 6th or 7th rounds and be a nice piece.

Samuel in Rd 1 would be awful.

He has Samuel in round 2.
And actually Samuel would replace 2 players, therefore freeing up an extra spot on Defense if needed.
Samuel could replace Dunbar and Whitehead, and be insurance for Butler. As Samuel is more of a WR than a RB IMO.

I watch all of Ohio States games and Samuel would be a great addition for us.

Now my preference with the 1st 2 picks are defense, but if Samuel was pick #2, I wouldn't complain.
Prefer D in top 3 picks, and Noah Brown at WR in the 4th if he is still there.

Cam Robinson would be a better choice for RT.

I agree, Samuel at 60 would be a steal and add a tyrek hill element to our team. I like him better than mcafferrey

Just hope that we dont force our self to take a defensive player if there is a really great offensive player on the board at 28 and even if 60 fell that way as well I wouldn't care if we took the 2 best players available and they were offensive players Id still be happy.

I think Samuel would get all of Dunbar, Whitehead and Butlers touches. He would serve as a COP with Elliott and would play WR in 4 WR sets. I can see 70 carries and 40 catchs from Samuel.

McFadden would serve as Elliots true backup. With him taking Elliotts role as lead with Samuel serving the same role in the event Elliott got hurt
