I have been dealing with selling and finding a new home for me and my fiancé since early November. Despite some disappointments and set backs I am happy to say I was finally able to close on the selling of my house and purchasing of a newly built home.

Thankfully the experience is coming to an end.

I have owned a home for a good while. Bought my last home 20 years ago at 55,000 and just sold it for 300,000. New home only costing me 220,000. NO MORGAGE!!!

Yikes, where was your last house? Talk about a return on your investment.

Spring Branch area in Houston. Property values sky rocketed about 6 years ago. Prices have remained high as new home builders are coming in and building million dollar homes. No doubt the best investment I have had.

I have bought 3 and sold 2 in the last 5 years--I feel your pain, but I'm getting the hang of it.

The best buy of all and maybe some $ in the pocket to boot.

It is ridiculous and it is much worse after the housing bubble collapse. We refinanced our house a few years ago to take advantage of the lower interest rates. We refinanced with the same mortgage company and I bet we had to sign two or three times the amount of paperwork as we did when we originally bought the house.
