I was thoroughly disgusted with that game yesterday. That pathetic effort yesterday from the Cowboys was amazingly similar in almost every way to the game on opening night vs the Bucs. When you look at the stats of both games, it’s eerily similar.
Look at how the stats compare between both games, especially concerning the Line of scrimmage and penalties:
  • Bucs yards rushing in Sept: 152
  • Commanders yds rushing in Jan: 151
  • Cowboys rushing yds vs Bucs in Sept: 71
  • Cowboys rushing yds vs Comm in Jan: 64
  • Cowboys penalties and yds vs Bucs in Sept: 10/74
  • Cowboys penalties and yds vs Comm in Jan: 6/73
One other thing that stood out yesterday that was similar to the opening night loss was how pathetic Dak played and how easily the Commander DBs could cover the Cowboys routes. Like that buccaneers game on opening night, no one was open and on the rare occasion they were, Dak‘s throws were terrible. We have the most basic route trees in the NFL with so many simple curl routes or slants and very few crossing routes from stacked formations.

That effort last night was completely pathetic. I understand the game meant nothing since the egirls won. But the Cowboys effort and game plan looked like a pre-season game.

Can the Cowboys flip a switch? I guess so. But the teams that are capable of doing that and then getting on a roll in the playoffs are rare. The talk all week leading up to yesterday’s game was the Cowboys did not have a good week of practice. That better change immediately or the season ends in Tampa this weekend.

+1

This team does everything the hard way, and the dumb way. Beyond frustrating.

And yet so many wonder why some true diehards have become numb to any real positives about this organization. I said it years ago the star should be replaced with a teeter totter. Embarrassing display doesn’t even justify it.

Brady and the Bucs will finish what they started that first game, ending the cowboys season.

Lol, I thought the same thing. It was a delicious sandwich with rotten bread on the outside. Kinda ruined the taste.

Really fills you with confidence going into next week, right? It would be different if all the starters took the night off (not that they weren't checked out anyway), but they all were there for almost the entire game - and sucked.

I said this last night. But the only light glimmer of hope I can see is that each and every player except for Lamb sucked as well. That just shows you that this team from top to bottom wasn’t interested in playing yesterday. They better be next week or they are going to get trounced

I’m as down on the Cowboys as much as anyone, but I tend to agree.

This season is a reverse of the Garrett years. They show up for the big games and look like they’re sleep walking against lesser competition.

I still don’t think we’re good enough, but yesterday was an extension of what they’ve been doing this whole season.

the only thing that gives me hope is we've not lost 2 games in any month all season.
2-1...sep
4-1...oct
2-1...nov
4-1...dec
0-1...jan
so if the trend holds...we go on a winning streak in the play-offs.

twice this season we opened a month with a loss.
sept and nov.
each time we responded with a 4 game winning streak.
if the trend holds...we're winning the super bowl.

Unlike the 1st game of the season I don't see Cooper Rush coming in and taking us on a 4 game winning streak.

Dak really struggles with shell coverage. When you cannot run the football, teams can play coverage. They have to start running the football with more success or we are going to see these type of performances more often.

Yeah,
It was close to a replay of game one. Game one might have even been better.
The poor throws all day resulting in the 10 three and outs was extremely hard to watch.

Have kinda gotten used to it with this guy so I've developed a certain numbness to expecting more from him.

To think about seeing more of the same going forward from this same cast of characters is a little depressing tbh.

Oh well,
When's the draft again?
