Fired former Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz could lose $10 million for violating a non-disparagement clause when she raged that the company's board members 'f***ed me over.'

Miss Bartz, in an interview with Fortune after her Tuesday firing by phone, also said the board was 'trying to show that they're not the doofuses that they are.'

However, according to Fortune, her contract with Yahoo contained a clause barring her from criticizing the internet company.

A source told the magazine that Bartz could lose $10 million over her pointed comments.

That clause, if violated, could allow Yahoo to cancel a $10 million payout, due if she was sacked.

Miss Bartz made the call to the influential business magazine from Silicon Valley as reporters waited outside to report the news of her departure.

I think she was the doofus for not reading.

The entire company is ran by idiots. It's unreal how bad Yahoo's mismanagement has been. Yahoo had it all at one time. Like Sun Microsystems. When you have that much money, it just takes a really long time to get you to fold. Even with absolutely horrible management.

Yeah, once upon a time yahoo was at the forefront of search engines and IMing and advertising. Now it has all gone away it seems. But I still use their email. LOL

The reason she was fired in the manner she was(which she became so angry over) was because they knew she was a ***** on wheels and wanted to avoid one of her nasty tirades. She had a rep as a real piece of work.

I know nothing about her, really. But I can see how she might be like that. The key in those sorts of businesses, would not be the hierarchal structure, but innovation. Yahoo stopped innovating long ago.

BTW, I hope you keep posting Ranzo. I enjoy your stuff, even if not a lot of people respond.

Cool. I appreciate that CM! I'll post so long as it amuse me. As always I come and I'll go and certainly acknowledge my varied interests and tastes don't necessarily have shared mass appeal, this is not a revelation. I've lurked around here off and on for a very long time and knew this group is pretty sharply focused topically and I've not really noticed the crickets, but now that you mention it...you're right. Forum posting is, if we're honest, a self-indulgent exercise and a little external disinterest is without much effect. :)

Dude, this isn't high school where you break up over twitter. Who cares if she is a complete ******. Man up and tell her she is done to her face.

She will get her money too...

Hmmm. Not sure how to respond. No, I didn't have Twitter in high school, but then again, she didn't get fired over the phone when I was in high school either.

The point of my post is that you don't fire the CEO of a major company over the phone. You are paying this person millions of dollars a year, and to do it over the phone says alot about the way you run your company. Personally I wouldn't want to do any business with a company that fires their Top ranking official over the phone, just as I wouldn't want to do any business with a high schooler that breaks up over twitter. Both actions speak volumes about the integrity and maturity of the company/person doing the firing/breaking up.

I'm not expert, but I think I was using an analogy to make a point. Sorry it went over your head...

I still use Yahoogroups and Fantasy Football on Yahoo. That's it. I used to play suicide spades too.
