Eddie LeBaron was a decorated Korean War veteran, Marine officer, and NFL quarterback. In the 1950 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders selected LeBaron in the 10th round as the 123rd overall pick. He played for the Commanders from 1952–1953 and 1955–1959, and for the Dallas Cowboys from 1960–1963. During his 11 NFL seasons, LeBaron made four Pro Bowls and was named Rookie of the Year in 1952.

Those jerseys and helmets are the best

one of my dad's favorites.
used to tell me stories of how fun it was to watch him play.
his all-time favorite was dandy don meredith.
but he loved eddie labaron.

Someone needs to update the Wiki article. He never played for the Commanders.
He did play for them under the previous name. Was drafted by them, and had two tenures with them. Replaced Baugh as starter.

You are all wrong on this one. It's the same franchise. Name changes and even city changes don't erase the original franchise.
How so? Me thinks the Browns, Colts, Oilers, and Ravens would say differently.

"Little" Eddie was a good QB. He served his nation well and the early Cowboys well. If the rest of the team had been as good as he was then their record would have been much better those early years. He did well while Meredith sat and learned. Then Dandy Don took over, the team added talent as they went along and things really started clicking. Happy Birthday to the first number 14.
