...the Cowboys won't make 2 Conference Championship appearances.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere, but here goes.

The Cowboys joined the league in 1960.

2 Appearances: In 1966 and 1967, the Cowboys lost the NFL Championship game, winning the NFL Eastern Conference title both years.

7 Appearances: In the 1970s, the Cowboys won two Super Bowls, making 7 NFC Championship appearances along the way.

3 Appearances: In the 1980s, the Cowboys made 3 NFC Championship game appearances, losing them all.

4 Appearances: And in the 1990s, the Cowboys made 4 NFC Championship game appearances, winning 3 (and the subsequent Super Bowls)

And in the 2000s, the Cowboys have made 0 NFC Championship game appearances. By failing to qualify for the playoffs after the 2008 season, there is one season left in the decade (2009). So only 1 NFC Championship game is possible.

Sad to say, but the 00s have been the least productive decade for the franchise. I'd be happy to just win one playoff game before the decade is over.

this also has the potential to be the first decade that the Cowboys regular season record is below .500.

Regular Season Record so far this decade: 71-73

In 50 years, historians will say that this has been the dark ages in Cowboys history. And fans will say it's a no brainer that the team has been so bad.

A team run by an owner who undermines the coaches with a GM with no football background can't possibly be any good. duh~~~

You are such a fool Jerry. But the fans are bigger fools.

To be honest, this league is much different now with parity and the salary cap. Still, this has been a very trying time.
