Never on record for sure.

But actions speak louder than words and their actions have already confirmed that.

Attempting to trade a 2nd round pick for a receiver that you gave away for a 5th rounder tells the world ‘we screwed up’ whether they admit it on the record or not.

And their frantic pursuit of OBJ and late season signing of TY Hilton eliminates all doubt except for those that can’t handle the truth.

Anyone that can’t see it just doesn’t want to.

Have you actually sat down to watch him play QB in the last 7 years? What other proof do you require? Do you honestly think the Dak hate is in regards to one or two bad games? What's silly is the utter denail on posters like yourself who seem to be happy with having to painfully watch our QB not perform when it counts.

Depends somewhat on which free agents they lose and if they sign any free agents.

WR
I expect them to sign a free agent WR or trade for one.
- It's likely OBJ if they're convinded he is healthy.
- Stephen Jones talking to reporters recently kept repeating "I wouldn't rule out a trade this off-season".
- They tried to trade for WR Cooks during the 2022 season.
- Even if they sign a significant free agent WR, they'll still look for a WR in the draft.
- WR is the position most valued by the Joneses considering all of the trades they made to get one.

DT
I think that they've finally been convinced that they need to invest in a legit DT.
- Probably in the draft but I think they'll at least contemplate a significant free agent.
- The acquisition of Hankins was an admission that the DT position is just not good enough.

CB
CB has to be a consideration in the 1st and they'll definitely draft one at some point in the 2023 draft.

RB
I expect them to Franchise Pollard and draft a RB in the top 3 rounds.
- Then by 2024 the draft pick could be the starter and Pollard/Zeke would be gone.

OL
If they draft an OL in the 1st round, then I expect it to be an OT or OT/OG type.
- It's much more difficult to replace OTs than OGs.
- Steele can retain Steele for 2023 for cheap but he'll be an unrestricted free agent in 2024.

They'll never tell us the real reason that they dumped Amari Cooper.

Teams can't keep malcontents regardless of their talent.
- Belichick has moved on from many great players if they expressed any discontent.
- Yes, he sometimes got more in return, however...
- It's coaching 101 to not tolerate malcontents, especially if they express negative feelings to the media.

Cooper had a significant conflict with somebody in the organization.
- Probably Kellen Moore based on repeated inferences by Cooper about the play calling.
- Maybe Dak.
- Maybe Jerry/Stephen about the Covid issue. I'm certain he had a bad reaction to being scolded about that issue.

Cooper’s “sin” was not having enough guaranteed money in his contract.

That allowed a terrible cap manager to gain a respite from his past mistakes.

Players like Lawrence, Tyron Smith, Elliott, and Prescott were smart enough to get lengthy guarantees that force the Cowboys to keep them.

Cooper had no such guarantees, which made him the odd man out.

As a rule they generally try to the 1st round pick to replace starters lost via free agency.....that would be LG, TE, RB and CB. With that said, my guess would be CB but my personal choice would OL or guard. I mean every team in our division has a top Dline.

Exactly.............that is why they say that the "real contract" is the guaranteed money.............everything else is just window dressing.
 
The smartest thing they can do after saying that they want Dak for a long time (a major stupidity) is to create a wall for Dak, so that he can be under less pressure and make as few mistakes as possible, I think OG Ocyrus Torrence would be ideal
