Twitter: First glimpse of 2025 Cowboys offense

You ever coached no So your opinion doesn’t matter! Its my career what he is doing is always being in gaged with the players which is always a positive!

I hope Coach Heimer wears his visor like that on game days. CeeDee doesn't make that one handed grab if Heimer's visor is on right. Plus there's something Romoesq about it which I know we all love.

We'll have that workout for him with the Dolphins had that workout him for his future career as a GM the best player developmental guy on the team the culture creator had that work after he left one of the best assemblance of coaches and players you can get when that all left where was this approach that just created something out of nothing because that's what a lot of our coaches lately have had to work with not the best rosters being built here they're all in concept not really being recognized here...

Let's be careful on the getting caught up in nostalgia and acting like somehow Jimmy Johnson just did this for three other teams he did it with Jerry Jones they hit gold with some trades they made it happen and then it died and he didn't do it anywhere else and Jerry hasn't recreated it either it's difficult to do that ask Bill Belichick why he's now at North Carolina of all schools in college why isn't he recreating New England all over again we all know the answer it's rhetorical sometimes you strike it hot you get on a roll and then it fizzles out and it's not going to be recreated these dynasties will not be recreated I want to see when Amy Reed does with a whole different set of players when there's no Kelsey and no Mahomes and no Jones on defense you know where Spagnola is not there to have his back i'd like to see what he can do happen to go to a team and just start from scratch and will he ever do what they did in Kansas City ever again on that level?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no so I get it man we all have nostalgia we all remember the 90s teams and the 70s teams that doesn't mean their way is the only way you know same thing with Parcells he never recreated the greatness from the New York Giant era he didn't it just never happened to get there's a reason for it you're not going to be able to assemble the same staff and the same players you're not going to be in the same moments against those same teams..

I mean I understand why we always keep running back to this and acting like how parcels or Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells and Andy Reid how they how they have a specific way they did things and how same thing way back in the day with Tom Landry but that doesn't mean another way can't work see all the types..

That's all it took was a military type atmosphere and no nonsense serious if you don't get in line you're gone type attitude then everybody would be doing it and by the way the more modern player doesn't put up with that that's why players are moving more they have figured out free agency they have figured out what agents had to get out of contracts or forced their way off teams and they're moving around a lot it's similar to college too it's kind of hard to recreate greatness there because of the transfer portal things have changed jimmy Johnson could not come back right now and do anything with this Cowboys team because he's not going to have the same players not going to have the same coaching staff he's definitely not going to have the same teams to face in the same moments....

I love the enthusiasm, but sometimes it can be hard to go from buddy to disciplinarian and to demanding accountability and effort when conflict arises. This is OTAs, so I have zero concerns. Ones the games start I'm sure it will be a little different

im a big fan of Jimmy but he has straight up said his style (along with BP's and such) wouldn't work with todays athlete, they would just tune you out. As generations change so do the leaders that have to motivate them..it is what it is.
bam I just said that at the end of my long rant it is why some of these coaches can't recreate greatness almost all of them bill Park sells Jimmy Johnson Bill Belichick already waved a white flag and ran to college I mean Amy Reed is going to have to go through the same thing recreating greatness is going to be tough to do but you're right the way they did it military style no nonsense the way players move nowadays they make way too much money and have more power nowadays and players move free agency and the way teams are doing contracts players are moving a lot more than they used to they were afraid to move they're afraid to go other places teams made them scared to move now superstars are ending up on other teams I mean how do you think Philadelphia got Saquan Barkley it was just dumb luck the loyalty wasn't fair saquan Barkley didn't want anything to do with the Giants but you have other players who put up with bad teams like Barry Sanders never left he just retired it's one of the greatest but should he had went to another team that all he needed was a back he probably would have got a ring but players just didn't move around a lot back then...

But you're dead on you talk smack the players nowadays to have the players union they have the owners ear they have Twitter and social media to back them up everything is just out front and into open they don't put up with the stuff they don't hold out they'll not care about the money until you get so tired of their antics that you trade them.... It kind of started in the nba with superstars just leaving and then it just kind of leaked over into other sports but it is a different era for sure..

.

I'd love to what you think the feel of NFL practices should be. Every team from the SB winners on down joke around, there's video evidence of this. Football is fun, relax.
Sounds like Schotty is trying to make it too much fun. He sounds like one of the guys. Has a Camp Cupcake feel to it.

Look this all seems good on paper it's all sounds good but I want to see accountability I want to make sure and he doesn't need to spit on people or embarrass them on TV but I want to see our biggest name players when they're not doing what they're supposed to do in games they need to be talked to in private on the sidelines somewhere where nobody's watching he'll go into medical tent a guy like Micah Parsons can't keep over running his run assignments to go get a sack i'm just picking on him because he's the biggest name on defense,..

The cultures changes that's where it needs to change you get the accountability from your biggest stars so when they do something they're not supposed to and they're not doing it right they're playing hero ball or they look like they're sitting over on the sidelines touting or not into the game something needs to be said to them and say hey you're the leader you can't I don't care how down you feel about the game you can't sit over on the sideline looking like the game is over..

That's what I call culture is not just about starting the winning ways you have to have your superstars behold accountable first because how does it look to the rest of the team when you have your stars taking plays off or just saying screw the run game I'm just going after sacks today or screw my assignment I need to blow up a guy instead of tackle him clean like Donovan Wilson you can't have these things so that's what I'm going to be watching this year is in the first 2 or 3 games where does that accountability come from which of the coaching staff is going to be brave enough to challenge these players even if it's not out and open and tell them they either they need to do their jobs or they're going to end up sitting..

I know that's hard to do pull your best players but you can for a series I mean you can do it and you can lie if you're trying to save face and the media say he's got a string groin or something maybe he's got cramps from dehydration but the accountability has to start somewhere you have to show the team how you treat your superstars and it'll flow down from there...

You make them accountable and the rest of the team will fall in line that's where culture chains comes from you don't have to be all loud and abusive and spitting and throwing clipboards and being angry and turning purple but you do need to go to your superstars and tell them when they're not doing things well or you go to your superstar and tell them You need to be showing these players how to be leaders how to play 100% for four quarters and if they're not you have to have your superstars be the one to go grab a face mask and go tell them to get in line and don't tell me you're tired go up there and make a play...

That's because it's ota's mostly young players it's the first less than organized practices,

this is how you start making connections with players there's no reason he can't do this now and then when it becomes more serious in training camp it'll become more tight..."feels" to you like camp cupcake, who cares can't cupcake long as a result happen..

I think he has a plan and early on he needs to get to know the players and they need to get to know him the entire staff knew but there's also a lot of new players is it new everything you're trying to introduce you don't want to be all too serious when it's not serious.

There's the time to be serious and I bet you're not going to see it ,when they have closed practices closed camps, when they're doing things behind closed doors where players aren't being challenged or embarrassed in front of people...

so, you can keep their respect, and you can give them respect in a way but still be imposing and serious it's coming but that doesn't mean you're going to see it it doesn't mean an ota's it is a very light part of the ramp up period IMHO.

He's just establishing connections, and this is his way of doing it and there's nothing wrong with that.... There are always different ways of doing it this is his way, and we'll see the results at the end of the year, but we've seen this work there's been head coaches with very kind of felt like college coaches or even high school the way they treated people, and they still won games....

Pretty sure Tony Dungy won a Super Bowl being a little less than ominous he was very religious it felt like when he talked to players they were he was talking to his teenage kids or his young adults that's just the way he did it.... You look around the league there's a mixed bag it's no longer just being the no nonsense military style coach there's been a lot of new age coaches, and I know Miami hasn't done much right now, but their head coach is just like one of the guys ,but they're not changing out coaches just because of his coaching style...

A lot of rah-rah and yippy type stuff with Schotty. We’ll see if it equates to a tough, physical football team. Call me skeptical.
